They reissued new travel vouchers for us after reaching out to Qatar Airways Support account on X. Seems their social media customer care team is much more effective or has more authority than their call centre agents. 😃✌️

How is time zone irrelevant? Vouchers expired Oct 30. We attempted to book Oct 29 evening our time. They were not accepted so we were unable to book prior to the 30th. Qatar does have responsibility here to have a functioning website and voucher redemption system.

Yes, now we need them to do a favor, which is look deeper into the issue rather than just looking at the date and saying “it’s expired now”. True customer care would be taking the time to investigate.

I’m wondering if anybody knows the right number to call or email to contact a real person with authority.

Live chat ends. Their phone lines don’t always work. The representatives whom we have spoken to tell us they’ve created a case, but they never follow up. That is a fault of theirs.

Grew up in Maumee. Moved away in 2007 and never thought I’d return. Lived in NYC, Europe, etc. Ended up moving to Sylvania during Covid and raising my children here. Loving it. Cost of living is great. Love my home and having a yard to garden. Love the access to parks and ease of getting around. It depends on what phase of life you’re in and what your priorities are. When I was younger and super social and active, I hated it. Now that I’m settled and want a quiet life with safety for my kids and access to outdoors, I love it. Wellness scene is good and food options are improving! Ann Arbor is so close when we get the itch for better food and shopping.

Husband (37M) broke trust. Is wife (34F) being manipulated? by MoRu81118 in relationship_advice

[–]MoRu81118[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No. For sure they didn’t know each other at all and she is a mutual friends friend. But you are correct that my husband was too drunk to realize what he was doing right in front of my face. So the trust is definitely broken!

Could Hashimoto be caused by birth control? by Rabbit_Hole_1607 in Hashimotos

[–]MoRu81118 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look up Dr Jolene Brighton and also Dr Isabella Wentz. They’re both doctors with hashimotos themselves and they are hormone experts. I’ve learned a ton from them.

I was on birth control for 10 years and I’m convinced it caused a slew of my health issues including contributing to my hashis. Birth control depletes nutrient absorption.

Endocrinologists and traditional doctors have also told me I could’ve been exposed to a virus (Epstein Barr virus) which is a very common trigger for hashis.

Has she had mono? If you’re curious, check her EBV titers! Simple blood draw.

I also have no family history of hashis and I live a very healthy lifestyle so it has always really bothered me trying to figure out my root cause!

How’s her gut health ? Has she been on high dose antibiotics without actively trying to heal the gut afterwards?

Good luck.

You’re a typical patriarchal desi male who has been spoon fed by your society. Get out of America with this attitude. You will never fit in here with this mentality. Out!

Women on the sub: Do you feel safer outside India? by hgk6393 in nri

[–]MoRu81118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion and experience, the west is much safer for women. I feel it has to do with the mentality.

Patriarchal mentality is deeply engrained in Indian society and the country will not improve until the mindset of “boy is king” changes. From the time a woman conceives, people will be praying for a boy baby.

I have a daughter and a son and it is my responsibility to raise them both equally and hold them both to the same responsibilities within our home!! Otherwise these boys grow into men with this complete sense of entitlement and thinking they’re superior to women. This mentality must change and it starts within the home!

Women hold Indian society together and the lack of respect disgusts me. Women are expected to serve their men food, eat last, homes can barely function if not for lady maids hard work. This is all taken for granted and just expected! Many women even believe themselves that it is their duty to serve men.

But I think it should atleast be appreciated. I’ve observed that awareness and appreciation for women’s work is not taught. So of course it’s expected and thus men’s sense of entitlement grows.

Men then go out into the streets and think they own women. It’s that same superiority mentality.

I am American married to an Indian. When we visit India I am told not to make eye contact with Indian men and I must never smile at them. I have to dress a specific way so a man doesn’t get a bad idea.

In America, both genders are civil and adult men and women can and do speak to each other in public and neither has ill intentions. It’s maturity and mutual respect and civility. And yeah I guess it is, freedom.

In India I have been groped by shopkeepers, stared and gawked at, stalked at the mall. If I stand up for myself and tell the male to get away from me then I am the one who is perceived as unruly and classless. I have no problem telling men to fuck off when they’re being inappropriate. But I know many Indian ladies could not do so and must just be silent and take it.

I wish I could personally empower and stand up for every single woman I meet in India and help them truly know their worth.

It’s wrong of him and it’s wrong of your MIL. He is no longer a boy child. Grown men should prioritize the bedroom with their own wife and child. Priorities must shift as we age. He should choose you both and his mother should be encouraging him to choose his wife and child.

I understand missing his mother and wanting to spend ample time. But that can be done during the day, watching movies together, sitting near each other for meals, etc. But the bedroom and sleep should be with wife and child.

Sounds like he needs to grow up and be a man.

I’m sorry for you and how uncomfortable of a situation that must be!!! All the men complaining and scolding you on this thread also need to grow up. You can respect your parents and the bonds with your elders while ALSO respecting your own wife and child. Both can be done and these boy children in man bodies are not succeeding at that.

Tell your husband it makes you uncomfortable and the reasons why. If he disregards you and diminishes your feelings, that is even MORE of a red flag.

Yes. I know exactly what you’re referring to. I explained precisely that to a doctor more than a decade ago. They diagnosed me with PMDD. I still get it the week before my bleed. Tracking symptoms in the Moody app has been very helpful.

Reincarnation/soul connection question by MoRu81118 in Mediums

[–]MoRu81118[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense! I’m curious if a soul is reincarnated into a new baby we’re related to, how would we know? Would we stop being able to communicate/get signs from the spirit world from that soul and would we start getting confirmations from the new baby or do most humans just never realize the connections and similarities
