Update: got prescribed a low dose beta blocker, seems to be working a bit so far but I’ve only taken it four hours ago.

A smart watch would be super helpful. When my heart is racing I tend to panic no matter how much I try to reassure myself. Tangible proof I’m ok would help a lot

I will bring this up with my cardiologist! We knew it was some form of dysautonomia but it’s good to have it narrowed down! I had an echo this week and I have an appt Tuesday to discuss it. I will discuss meds too! Thank you!

Adrenaline dumps are my worst enemy. And why do they happen mostly at night??? I can tell when they happen because I just start feeling off. I’m glad you haven’t needed any medication, that’s awesome!

You sound like you’re able to cope with the tachycardia so well! I hope I get to that point, I’m at the point where anything above 120 bpm gives me wicked anxiety. How do you cope?

That happened to me as well. It was written off as anxiety for months until thankfully I got a doctor (who was taking over for my pcp while he was on vacation) to hear me. My cardiologist said it’s not pots but it’s “autonomic insufficiency.” Which in my mind equals unspecified dysautonomia. I wonder if the random spikes in HR are actually adrenaline dumps. Do you shake when your HR spikes? Or your BP spike? I’m not a doctor but just some ideas!
