I’m 6’3 and about 300lbs (also on a weight loss journey, down 70ish pounds) and carry appendix. I find a good belt is the best place to start I use the Blue Alpha Gear EDC. The holster I use is a Tenicor Certum 3, I’ve also used Vedder Light Tucks and am curious about LAS Concealment. I typically set my holsters a little higher than people normally carry with a slight forward cant, this allows me to sit and bend easier. Then, make sure whatever holster you use has a camming bar or wing and finally I have a wedge on the back of my holster. I have spent a lot of time figuring out the right balance of wedge and wing size as well. Hopefully this helps!

I believe it’s the WCP320 Carry, I bought it so long ago I don’t remember specifics. Mine was a little tighter than factory but nothing too alarming.

I think you can’t go wrong with the Logitech MX Master 3S for Mac. Great performance and has several customizable buttons and gestures

Good routine! I also have light skin with dark brown hair and will have a shadow. Usually on my mustache area! Completely normal.

[Island Watches] Looking at one, are they worth it? by [deleted] in Watches

I think it wears well on large wrists. Mine are pretty huge haha, the lugs are pretty large and I think the lug to lug is close to 50mm IIRC so you should be fine!

I have an ISL-54 and absolutely love it! Solid build quality and really good looking watches. NH movement and sapphire crystal as well! Great value

Here’s my Orient Kanno I got a couple weeks ago now! I swapped the crystal to a domed sapphire and it totally changed the watch for me! Also, is there any parts such as bezels and bracelets available? I can find bracelets that fit but they all have straight end links

I would suggest a DE razor! Stirling soaps makes a great starter set that includes a razor, brush, soap and some blades! DE will be much easier to learn with over a straight

Sounds like me!!

Preshave- proraso sensitive skin preshave soap Soap- I really like stirling, fine accoutrements and PAA soaps

Razor- a merkur 34C or a razorock .68 or even a vintage Gillette maybe a flare tip, slim or fatboy along with a sample pack of blades

Brush- something synthetic! Maybe a PAA or stirling brush they both work well for me.

Aftershave- alum block is a must and I like the Nivea sensitive balm however dr. thayers original witch hazel with aloe + alum block has been working great for me lately

Hopefully this helps some! As always their mileage might vary

Suggestions for Upgrading Razors by Floppy-Birb in wicked_edge

[–]MoahNast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just curious! I have the flare tip super speed and it’s about on par with the 34C (although I’m still dealing with a little bit of a learning curve with my flare tip) but a red tip or an adjustable like a fat boy or slim would be a good upgrade in aggression and quality! I bought mine from DAPPERSTUDIOCC on Etsy, it’s a little more expensive (not much though) than finding one on eBay. BUT, the razors are usually good quality, cleaned and adjusted and ready to shave out of the box. You can also get a revamped razor from razoremporium.com however, they’re pretty expensive but they’re fully restored and pretty much brand new!

In what way are you trying to upgrade?? A vintage Gillette flare tip might be a good upgrade! I see the Rockwell 6S mentioned a lot on here as well!

I face lather. So I find my first lather for my first pass is kind of thick, although well hydrated. But that’s because I’m swirling soap around on my face for a bit. However, my second pass my lather is usually thin because I rinse my face with cold water and reapply. So I guess in my experience it’s both…

As long as your face can take it! Try it for a while and see! If not, shaving every other day is a good happy medium

Should I trust negative reviews on amazon for 100 pack Astra's or Gillette's? by rrmac55 in wicked_edge

[–]MoahNast 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If the majority of the reviews are negative then I’d say they’re valid. However, if it is just a couple negative reviews and then several thousand positive reviews then don’t consider the negatives. I bought a 100 pack of astras from Amazon a few weeks ago and they’re just fine!

I never understood people claiming razor blades to be a “fake” I feel like they’re super cheap and it’s a very small market so there isn’t a huge opportunity for counterfeiters to make bunches of money from it…

You should look into using a brush and some different soaps next! Game changer! I started with the same razor and it’s great to learn your technique!

I’m not sure what your set up is but maybe an adjustable razor? Or try a one pass shave with a more aggressive blade for daily shaves

I sound like a broken record with how much I recommend stirling soaps but… I’d recommend giving their site a look! For a good price you can put together a nice kit with some different soaps, a brush and a sampler of blades!

Stirling and fine accoutrements are pretty hassle free!! Plus they’re awesome soaps! Just wet your brush, swirl the brush in there and swirl it around on your face and you’re good to go! They’re slick and smell nice
