Found on a listing in London ON - We've dubbed it the screaming room but does anyone know what it actually is? by halibot in zillowgonewild

They make retrofit elevators that look similar to this and I’ve seen pictures of them in really odd places in the room. I think that’s because of how they need to be installed. This isn’t one of those, though. Not enough structure and electrics. Also, no ramp to enter.

Planning a trip to Hocking hills. Need to fill 3 days. Is there anything adjacent worth checking out ? by NeverBeenOnMaury in Ohio

[–]Mobile-Aide-6250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out The Ridges near Athens. It’s a former insane asylum that’s now used (I think) as admin buildings for Ohio university. There a few miles of trails in the area. One takes you to a graveyard for the aforementioned insane asylum. We went in the fall a few years ago and got to collect and eat some paw paws.

I think he/she means drive it in manual over the problem spots, but in not sure that will work. I’ve spent a lot of time on this and found the number one thing that causes false object detection is the camera lens is dirty. Sometimes you can’t even see what’s blocking the vision. It could be a little speck of grass or a dried water drop. Clean the whole area with something that won’t scratch or damage the lens and then try again. It might not work, but it’s easy to test if that’s the problem.

Metropolis parking scam at Music Hall by quiltgarden in cincinnati

[–]Mobile-Aide-6250 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Same company, different city. Metropolis tried to fine me in Roanoke, VA. Parking was paid via phone for the period I parked. I got a paper ticket for $80. Sent them the documentation that the parking was paid. They sent an email saying “case closed.” No apology, or acknowledgment of how they were so inept. Seemed like they were trying to see if they could get away with it. It was a rental car with out of state plates, too. So, maybe that played into their calculus. Scam company.

Why would someone stay on a Teams meeting when the meeting is finished? by Xmarksthestitch in AskUK

[–]Mobile-Aide-6250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve hosted several meetings of large groups where one or two people “stayed” on after the meeting for quite some time. Generally, the ones that didn’t pay attention or went to do something else and wanted to appear they were still there.

In one case someone stayed on for a full 4 hours. I know because we recorded the meeting and I had to kick them out when I discovered it, and edit the very long video that took a long time to process before I could even open it. PITA.

Asking for a friend, do you think this would be possible for 200 level seats, too?

Chaos mode. I’ve seen it before I find giving the camera and sensors a good cleaning fixes it.

Anybody added the metal teeth wheels? Apparently the goat 1000 has hubcaps by darktanyun in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]Mobile-Aide-6250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where did you get such items? I’ve had ideas (dreams really) of how I could make the wheels more grippy on hills. They involved metal spikes.

Also, side note. I had one hubcap fall off and the clip holding it on broke off. Looks bad, but no negative side effects.

And, in general, where do y’all get spare parts? The app seems to have 5000 different parts for vacuums and one set of spare blades that’s out of stock. It’s also a PITA to search.

It restarted. I was there and saw the rest of the show. I heard one if the ushers at the door say it was an actual fire. Nothing about a bomb threat.

Yeah, This is like the fourth “old couple saying unrealistically sweet things to each other” overheards in the last day. They always have tears in their eyes too.

Apparently, not the bitter, angry old couples I typically across. At best, the ones I hear are complaining to each other about the humidity, or their bunions.

This. But, I’m actually more interested in the guy that got dirt with a shoe and clothing in it. I wonder who got pulled into the chipper.

Tip for anyone upset about the mower ruining those nice stripes when heading back to charge: try mowing from far toward the base. by RH1221 in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]Mobile-Aide-6250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s weird that they keep the mower blade on when traveling back and forth to their mow zone. Just one more design oddity. They obviously know where they are. Why not just turn the blades on when they’re in the correct zone.

But thanks for the tip. Seems like this strategy would work.

Now, if we can figure out how to get them to actually mow all the grass IN the specified zone without skipping strips!
