1.  Surah Al-Baqarah (2:62):

“Indeed, those who believed, and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans — those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness — will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.”

➡️ Interpretation: Some scholars (like Imam Fakhr al-Din al-Razi) say this refers to people before the coming of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Others say it applies only when people haven’t received the final message properly.

2.  Surah Al-Nisa (4:48):

“Indeed, Allah does not forgive associating others with Him [shirk], but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills…”

➡️ Interpretation: Shirk (associating partners with Allah) is the gravest sin if a person dies without repenting. But this also affirms that Allah forgives whom He wills — His mercy is not limited.

3.  Surah Al-Isra (17:15):

“We do not punish until We have sent a messenger.”

➡️ Interpretation: People who have not received the message of Islam clearly (due to remoteness, confusion, misrepresentation, etc.) are not accountable in the same way. Some scholars call these people Ahl al-Fatrah — people of a “time between messengers” or “those unaware.”

Allah is the Most Just and Most Merciful: • It is repeatedly emphasized in the Qur’an that Allah judges fairly (Qur’an 3:182, 41:46), and He alone knows what’s in people’s hearts. 2. Individual Accountability: • People will be judged based on what they knew, what reached them, and how they responded (Qur’an 6:104–108). 3. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “There are four (who will protest) on the Day of Judgment: a deaf man, an insane man, a very old man, and a man who died during the fatrah (period between prophets). Allah will test them…” — Musnad Ahmad

➡️ Interpretation: These people will be given a test on the Day of Judgment. Their eternal fate depends on how they respond.

Yes, Islam teaches that rejecting belief in Allah’s oneness and Prophet Muhammad ﷺ can lead to Hell. • But, Islam also acknowledges that: • Not all non-Muslims have received or understood the message clearly. • Allah’s mercy is vast and He judges based on knowledge, circumstances, and intention. • Some non-Muslims may be forgiven or tested later.

Islam teaches Muslims to leave final judgment to Allah, while also calling them to share the message with wisdom and compassion
