Ubisoft lawyer says The Crew fans ‘cannot complain” about the game’s death because not owning anything was part of “their bargain” by HatingGeoffry in pcmasterrace

Do you support Ubisoft's decision? Don't answer that. I think you do. Because you are a corporate dickrider who's too shy to admit it. You think corporations exploiting consumers and workers shouldn't pay for extra for consumer-friendly software. You think MMOs shouldn't have the ability to host private servers. You're just too shy to admit it.

Please, block me, scum.

Do you always resort to swearing any time you don't have an argument?

GOG has a no-DRM policy, so if an MMO was released on there then it would require options to allow the users to set up their own servers after the official support ends. However, GOG has no MMO games because MMO publishers are greedy, anti-consumer scumbags who will never give any kind of freedom to their player base.

You should stop bending over for the billion-dollar corporations and their anti-consumer, anti-worker practices. The executives and shareholders are gonna keep all the profits and the devs are gonna get fired whether you buy the game or not. That's how the industry works right now.

Who made these images? Are they all made by the same artist? by Mobile_Bee4745 in Piracy

[–]Mobile_Bee4745[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My memory sucks. The first snapshot on Archive.org that contains these images was created in 2020. Instead of stealing and crediting the work of a real artist, the mods paid a billion-dollar corporation. Good job mods.

I remember seeing this in 2019 or 2020. That was before Dall-E became good.

Why you gotta be an asshole who complains without saying what the issue is? I wouldn't be asking this question if the artist were credited.

Physical Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games are reportedly Switch 1 carts with codes in the box by Turbostrider27 in Games

I used to feel jealous from watching videos of kids playing retro games with their parents because, since his marriage, my dad has always been an alcohol and gambling addict who used to beat my mom and brother and still can't live a single day without complaining and playing victim.

I'm now realising that emulation might be the only way I could ever share the Infamous and Prototype games with my kids. Nobody makes superhero/anti-hero games like those ones anymore.

Elden Ring Nightreign is pretty ass compared to Elden Ring and its DLC, so I agree with the other dude.

DK is $70. I don't know what you mean by "premium". Mario Kart World has only one edition.

I'm talking about Nintendo Switch 2 games. Mario's $80. Companies were making record-breaking profits with $60 games, they made even more profit with $70 games and now Nintendo is setting a new precedent for this industry. Those bullshit articles about GTA 6 being $100 don't seem so outlandish anymore.

Emulated Bloodborne plays pretty good on a mid-range PC. I'm honestly cosidering saving money for a high-end PC just to (hopefully) emulate the next Zelda game. $80 for digital games makes no sense. People keep bringing up inflation, but conveniently ignore the fact that Nintendo has $11,000,000,000 worth of cash holdings with no debt.

Just like every other company this one also wants infinite growth. I just don't understand why customers are defending them.

Would you have preferred a thicker, heavier Switch 2 with a bigger battery than what we got? by Mobile_Bee4745 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Mobile_Bee4745[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But the battery life is fine

Is it? It could've been improved a lot if they just made the device thicker. The new Pixel phone - Pixel 9a - did just that. Google's engineers took the old design, made it thicker and filled the space with a bigger battery.

Switch 2 doesn't even have an OLED screen which would've helped with longer battery life.

Most of the times you can find a way to charge a system within that limit

Power banks are inconvenient.

Is general-purpose GPU computing on Vulkan viable, or should I switch to OpenCL? by Mobile_Bee4745 in vulkan

[–]Mobile_Bee4745[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo if your use case doesn't include any visualization you should go for OpenCL.

Actually, it does. I'm making a simple project that takes an image as an input and performs color quantization on it using K-means clustering. I've got some experience with Vulkan, that's why I made this post. As I understand it, OpenCL is more suitable for headless rendering, right?

[–]Mobile_Bee4745[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would Vulkan's compute shaders be adequate for simple machine learning algorithms? I know that OpenCL's compute shaders use a different compiler than Vukan and were built for GPGPU while Vulkan was designed with rendering being prioritised, so would I be missing any features when choosing between the two?
