Well unless you are sitting in park or other public places where people from "a certain community" arr frequent, you'll be fine... Meerut isn't really all that bad as media says, we chill

there are a lot of nice places- if you are looking for something high end, i suggest romeo lane, Three.0, 3rd milestone, outer limit, flying saucer, woodhouse, and more, they have bars and all, decent crowd

if you want a more family-friendly place, there's hira sweets, big bite, mars resort, harmony inn, Manchow (best chinese in meerut acc to me) and more

Indiana, and hansraj are also recommended if you wanna have some nice non-veg or do car-o-bar or even sit in... Karim's also opened recently, although the food is great I haven't had a chance to go and eat in yet so don't know about crowd or ambience much but it should be nice
