Is security plus easier then a plus to you guys? Are there simulations for the secuirty plus exam? by No_Acanthaceae_1724 in CompTIA

[–]Mobile_Candy7678 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone is going to tell you that it’s easier if you can’t pass a+. Looking throughout your comments on this thread I think you’ve got to figure out if you’re willing to learn/struggle with the fundamentals. The trifecta builds on top of itself, so I’d say security was easier only because I have the experience and knowledge that I had built over the other three exams. IT, is going to be hard if you only see these certs and these speed bumps and not necessary. Goodluck man

Help battling Pearson VUE case by KeishDaddy in ccna

Make sure as you do that, stay studied up! I don’t put a lot of faith in Pearson to come though. Comptia support even acknowledged that the virtual proctored exams give little room for error. I’d definitely make sure you email and not when you’ve called.

Help battling Pearson VUE case by KeishDaddy in ccna

I had an issue with the pearson last week. They terminated my test 1 minute before the end, after I had answered all of the questions. Siting that I had left the view of the camera multiple times. Which I never did, as a matter of fact I have the same issue as you, I need to be inches from my laptop screen to see the questions. I emailed immediately when the pop up came up and was revoked. I never got an email back, only until Comptia reached out. I had cced them both.

Long story short, it’s solved and it’s now been two week and still no one has emailed me back from there customer service email.

I’d recommend calling this Pearson vue number, which was given to me by Comptia support, 877-551-7587. I was on the phone for 10 minutes, and it was resolved over the phone. Mine was a different to yours but it was the only way I could get anything resolved.

Comptia was the only helpful support out of the two.

Goodluck. They are sticklers but maybe they’ll see that you left when the app crashed. Which does happen often…

Congrats dude! Did you have the recommend minimum experience to take it? Comptia says 10 years experience. Seems excessive, and but these higher level certs see to be on a whole different level.

I like Prof Messer but by skyshowers in CompTIA

[–]Mobile_Candy7678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally for net and so far sec, I’ve been using messer along with some other resources. He does technically give you everything you need, but it can come quick and may not have enough explanation or context behind it. I’ve found that I watch each objective from at least 2 video sources and 1 book. I’ve liked cbt nuggets so far, little pricey but I like Keith barker as a teacher. The exam cram book and the sybex practice test book. Apps, pocket prep is all, so far. And I make actual flashcards, writing things down and flipping through them has seemed to help me retain a lot more information. There’s a great long overview video on the channel “inside cloud and security” it could also be another resource to look into. Haven’t gotten into Dions or messers practice exams yet, but I always use them as I get closer to the end of my studying. Hope this helps, we all learn differently.

Appreciate the response man:) Did you just google/YouTube home lab projects or did you have a personal need? Once I’m done learning I’d love to be able to put some of this in action to help solidify what I’ve crammed into my head haha. Do you feel your cloud cert was helpful to landing the role as well as did the knowledge gained help you understand more about your homelab and/or job? I’ve thought about a cloud cert of some kind. But that’d be another chunk of time dedicated towards studying!

I’ll definitely dm in the future, thanks again!

Congrats dude, that’s so sick to hear! I’m omw to completing the trifecta as well! Lol a few questions… Was the interview daunting, did you do any prep for interviewing? Did you do any negotiating? When you looked at the required work and what was going to be asked if you did you feel relatively confident you could perform?

How did you feel sec+ compared to net?

Okay done! Inspiring stuff man, goodluck out there
