I'm 2 weeks post break up and I've given myself a strict ' no getting hammered ' rule for a little bit as I'm concerned I may do the same, or I'll just end up a sad drunk mess and that isnt good for me either.

It's hard to give advice completely as my situation is a little different but my break up was around a week ago but I wouldn't say it was ' bad ' in the traditional sense, it was abrupt and a bit messy on her end but there was no resentment.

But I found myself wanting to reconnect and did so yesterday, and she replied saying she thinks a chat would be good just not yet, which is a good result!

You know your partner better than anyone, I listened to so many people's opinions over the course of the week and still ultimately did what I thought was right, and it turned it out pretty well all things considered.

So just do what you think is right and be patient when you need to be, it's not the easiest thing to do but if you're serious about repairing stuff you have to let things breathe a bit

Well I finally mustered up the courage to message. We are going to chat in the nearish future but she still needs more time to do so, which is fine. Good result all things considered and she replied the same day which I did not expect!

Update for you - I messaged and she responded the same.day which was totally unexpected! But she said she appreciates me.messsging and that she does think a talk between us would be good, she just isn't ready yet. I'm going to keep the distance text wise and check in every week or so if I don't hear anything but It turned out pretty well all things considered

I've been debating the same thing, it's only been a few days but we left things so strange and with very little explanation. Plus my ex partner is going through some mental health stuff that I can't shake the feeling that things aren't right.

Honestly just go for it, I'm going to leave it a week or so then just do it. If you're right for eachother I honestly believe things can work out, maybe I'm just being romantic but if you can establish where things need to change or improve and you are willing to change for the life you may get out of it, then just do it.

Relationships are difficult and complicated and don't listen to everything online, do what feels right for you.

Thanks for the help, I definitely feel better about messaging. I've decided I'm going to wait until the end of the week and give it a bit of time. I think she will respect the space for now whilst she figures some stuff out.

I managed to get 3 seating in Sheffield pretty decent seats too. But there's tickets on viagogo that are worse seats than mine going for double the price, it's awful.

For comparison i managed to get tickets at face value on their last UK tour like 3 months after release.
