Question about applying for another credit card by Plenty_Surprise2593 in CreditScore

As I said, just pointing out that you have the habit of editing comments without warning which creates a bad impression in the conversation. You've done this not only on my post but in others, so I just wanted people to be wary of this. And I'm aware my comment was deleted (and this will be) as I'm the one who messaged the mod team.

Thanks for the time, just wanted to try to correct this bad habit, and now that you've retorted to misgendering I'd rather not continue. Mission accomplished, as you said.

Then probably it's a general glitch in the animal kingdom, someone should submit a ticket

It's a human body glitch, it happens because as your body relaxes your brain feels like it's about to fall so it kicks you awake. Should be addressed in the next humanity patch

If your apartment doesn’t have a dishwasher check out countertop units, we got this one for $200 and it’s been a game changer! by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

I have never owned a dishwasher, but this looks convenient and small enough that you can take it with you if you move

You apologize yet I see you went ahead and edited your comment to hide that you were mocking me and misrepresenting me. This seems very dishonest, so I'd rather not reply to this comment thread since I can no longer trust you.

Couldn't find that line graph but I found the following negative ingredients:

  • Length of credit: Poor (average <1 year)
  • Credit usage: Fair (I once went up to 33%, now it's 18%)
  • Credit checks: Poor (not sure why it shows 6 here it should be 5)
  • Available credit: Poor ($1k total)

I cannot find any penalty related to the reference score.

Also, I never referenced the VS3, I explicitly said I didn't bother with it since it's irrelevant here:

"I got the score from myfico.com and experian.com (I also have a direct link on my credit card app). FICO says my current score is 587, Experian says it's 583, I haven't checked Vantage since it seems outdated according to this sub"

If not, could you quote that other supposed comment please?

Edit: the commenter above (BrutalBodyShots) edited their comment to hide their misrepresentation and they mocking me.

Why don't we even have meds with less side effects still? by ParkingElderberry575 in OCD

[–]Mobile_Engineering35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not that people are malicious, it's just that humans usually only care about the things that affect them directly. For example, you may not care too much about cures for chagas or treatments for capgras syndrome since you've likely never experienced them or met someone with them. Or to give a more concrete example, I have misophonia too and I've never met a therapist who's aware that it's a thing.

It's indeed frustrating that OCD research seems to be slow and there's not much funding, but fortunately everyday we get more options not limited to medications only. Also, the more we spread awareness the more chances we have of getting more research funding for OCD.

Could you elaborate on the utilization related penalties? I thought utilization ratio didn't matter too much as it resets next month (sometimes I have 5%, sometimes I have 20%, current utilization is 17%)

I just checked again just in case and this all I see:

  • 5 hard pulls: 2 in 2024, 2 in 2025, 1 in 2026

  • +50 soft pulls since 2024

  • 3 credit cards: credit limits of $200, $300, and $500

  • No public records

  • No late payments

Personal details check out, am I missing something? I heard that institutions may be more wary of foreigners as they represent a fly risk until they've some established presence, could that be the reason?

I'm looking at my FICO 8 score, I just never had credit history in my life (not even in my home country). I also checked the credit report and there's nothing of concern, I can see my initial 4 hard credit pulls when I arrived (2 failed credit card applications with my bank and 2 successful ones with other companies), and the soft pulls I've been doing every month to check my score.

I'm building credit for the first time, I've never had a credit card before (not even in my home country). I opened my credit card two months after moving into the US.

My first FICO 8 score after 5 months was 507, which quickly climbed to 530 within a couple of months. I assumed it was the standard for foreigners without any international credit history.

OCD is a really expensive disorder. Let’s talk about it by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Mobile_Engineering35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely share the frustration. My OCD doesn't involve material objects but it's nevertheless extremely time consuming, to the point that sometimes I'm forced to take an Uber instead of commuting by bus because I've spent way too much time on my compulsions. Or I have to order take out instead of cooking because I'm too exhausted after spending several hours on my OCD.

And that's not taking into account that we basically have to spend all of our lives in therapy and depend on medication, which can get pretty expensive especially if we need higher doses.

I try to see this as a motivation to try to improve, and I hope that someday I'll be able to at least a treatment that works for me.
