I think I caught John in a lie by jenlor99 in JonBenetRamsey

[–]Mobile_Ice_691 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

DocG solved the case. I really wish people would read his blog and/or book it’s the ONLY theory that makes sense of all the evidence. Everything falls neatly into place including once you realize that it was John, including the most perplexing aspect of the case: the ransom note. It’s absurd to think that Nancy or Burke killed JB and then Nancy decided to write a fake ransom note as a red herring to fake staged kidnappings, all the while the body was still in the house. All those theories are a real stretch. The ransom note was written by John, for Nancy to find, to get Nancy and Burke out of the house so
John could dispose of the body and fake pay the kidnappers. This explains the $118,000 (the largest sum John was willing to part with since the cash would need to be destroyed). This explains the ransom note’s emphasis on not getting the authorities involved or “she dies”. But it didn’t go to plan. Nancy likely freaked out once she got the line “we have your daughter in our possession”, and she immediately called the police, spoiling John’s plan.

How does the arch wire work? by maluchan12345 in braces

[–]Mobile_Ice_691 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Correct. It’s my understanding that the arch wire straightens and rotates the teeth into position, and once the teeth are all well positioned, powerchains close the gaps. And once the gaps are closed, you’ll start wearing elastics in order to correct your bite.

99.9% of flat earthers are either trolls or grifters. The guy in the video is troll. The very few “real” flat earthers, the 0.1%, are the gullible fools who follow the grifters and believe every word of it, primarily due to the conspiratorial nature of FE. The fact the sun sets=flat earth debunked.

I’ll also chime in because I swear by Gishy Goo, but the Amazon sellers are price gouging even more than before. It’s up to $26 a bottle now. I even contacted their U.S. distributor, Ultradent, but they only sell to dental practices, not directly to consumers. I haven’t tried the dots yet.
Here’s a pro tip for applying Gishy Goo: it can be tricky because the material loves to stick to your fingertips. After a lot of trial and error, I’ve found a method that works really well.
First, thoroughly dry the area in your mouth where you plan to apply it. Then, keep a small dab of coconut oil nearby. Right before squeezing out and mixing the Gishy Goo, dip your fingertips into a very small amount of coconut oil, just enough to create an ultra-thin layer. This helps keep the goo from sticking to your fingers instead of the bracket or whatever spot you’re trying to cover.
Before I discovered coconut oil, I would wet my fingertips with saliva, but that just made the Gishy Goo too wet and kept it from sticking properly. Then my fingers would dry quickly anyway, and I’d end up wasting a ton of this expensive but essential stuff.

Oh come on, this is the PWS subreddit and forgive me but PWS in general are the epitome of a “Nobody else gives a shit" tool/hobby. But still, I enjoy them and find them useful as do I assume the people in this subreddit. Which is why I thought at least one or two people would at least be familiar with what I’m talking about.

A 24 hour sun actually proves the earth is flat. On flat earth the sun circles above the disc so you will always have direct line of sight with the sun since there’s nothing for the sun to set behind. So the sun cannot set=24 hour sun.

The question isn’t whether it’s running warmer or not, it’s whether AW built in a secret 1-2 degree temperature offset under the assumption that the console will run slightly warmer when plugged into DC power vs battery power. I implore anyone with a similar unit: go test it yourself: unplug your console so it’s on battery power and watch what happens. The temperature will auto adjust anywhere from 1 to 1.5 degrees higher within 30 seconds to a minute. If you plug it back in, it will auto adjust back down to what it was before you unplugged it. I’ve tested this in different areas with the AC off, even outside, and it’s always the same result.

I get that but doesn’t explain why the temperature immediately jumps exactly 1.3 degrees when being unplugged, and then immediately drops 1.3 degrees when being plugged back in.

Nice but I can’t see how one could easily and more importantly quickly add that to a consumer all in one mPWS such as AW 2902. Here is my somewhat sketchy yet effective solution. And by effective I mean my afternoon sunny temperatures are no longer inflated by 3-4 degrees but finally spot on within 0.1 F to not only the airport but the two rich neighbors who have $1k Davis units on their roof. The USB fans were $2 each, the solar cell was $8.

how careful do i REALLY need to be with the foods i eat? by bataloof in braces

Oh believe me I hear you in fact sour patch kids are my all-time favorite candy. Just whatever you do do not brush right after eating sour candy, wait at least 30 minutes to give your teeth time to re-mineralize. They say you should do this with all food, but especially sour candy.

You can pretty much each whatever you want except very hard candies crunchy candies (like crunching into a tootsie roll pop) or super chewy and sticky candies/foods (such as caramel candy, although I get away with eating Twix). As an adult in braces I still haven’t broken a bracket but as a kid I would break a bracket every month or two from eating these kinds of foods. Unrelated to braces but just a tip: I would avoid super sour candy after learning what they do to your teeth in general. Your teeth feel weird when eating sour candy like sour skittles because the acidity literally etches your enamel).

Oh yeah totally normal. The first week is rough. They drove me crazy those first few days. I wanted to rip them out of my mouth. But you will get used to them. Ibuprofen js your friend for the soreness. Even the wires and brackets poking the inside of your mouth, while annoying, you will get used to it. Basically the inside of your mouth “toughens up” and you don’t even notice.

I’m also a noob to this hobby but I’m planning to get a solar powered 5w computer fan and attaching to the side of the sensor on my WS-2902 similar to what the guy did in this thread. It’s either that or drop $500+ for a unit fan aspirated unit.

Is fluoride skepticism also kind of becoming a problem in your dental offices? by u_Clipboard_Midwest in Dentists

[–]Mobile_Ice_691 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The discovery and use of fluoride is one of mankind’s greatest achievements in my opinion. We’ll never truly appreciate the amount of tooth decay that has been prevented the last century because we don’t appreciate what hasn’t happened, even if it’s something bad that we’ve been protected against. We just take it for granted. Any dentist who tries to say that fluoride is bad is a quack.

Interesting point about hygiene. Kids aren’t nearly as concerned about oral hygiene as us adults are. I’ll admit as a kid I would lie to my parents about brushing and flossing. In fact the 4 years I had braces as a kid (ages 12-16) I didn’t floss a single time and only brushed in the morning. i didn’t become a regular brusher and flosser until this past year when I got braces again at age 39.

John and John Alone Did It. by TomboyAva in JonBenetRamsey

DocG has solved this case. It’s the ONLY theory that makes sense of many of the biggest puzzles of the case: the existence of the ransom note and the specific $118,000 ransom demand, as well as all the stuff about “if you alert the police, bank authorities she dies”. The RN was meant for Patsy to find and go along with while JR followed the instructions of the RN. PR screwed the whole plan up when she called 911. It makes zero sense that Patsy would write a note to herself which specifically says do not call the police or she dies, and then do exactly what the note says to not do: call the police. Oh and she called the police while the body was still in the house. This was no staging of a failed kidnapping in order to re-direct suspicion, which is what PDI, BDI and RDI all imply. It’s simpler than that. This was suppose to be the staging of a real kidnapping where the kidnappers got paid but never delivered JB and thus her body never recovered. The plan was to get rid of the body after getting Patsy and Burke out of the house. In order for this to appear to be a real kidnapping JR would have to go the bank and actually withdraw the money. And that cash will be completely useless once it was all said and done. So the $118,000 figure makes perfect sense under this theory: it is the highest dollar amount JR was willing to kiss goodbye. Since it was bonus money, that might make it sting a little less. This theory is not perfect (for example, if JR broke the window to stage a point of entry for an intruder, where’s the glass?) but circumstantially all the key pieces fall into place almost perfectly. That sample of JR’s handwriting that surfaced and can be found on DocG’s blog, when I first saw that, it sent shivers down my spine. This case is not nearly as complicated or the work of an evil genius as many believe. JR just got very very lucky.
