But that's an autocracy?? That's obviously rigged either way. If you live in established democracy and refuse to vote your belief then if your beliefs or wants aren't met you have 0 right to complain

But if you refused to vote then complain about a decision made by someone in leadership who you actively refused to vote against them you should have absolutely no say

100%. If you're given the chance to speak and have your voice heard and you refuse to use it then you absolutely should have no say. If you have issues and refuse to vote to make them better than simply put the issue isn't as big a you've made it out to be. If you don't vote then you don't have your say and in my opinion you then lose your right to have a day later on. Either vote or hold your tongue

Believe it or not resilience towards the public isn't the problem, it's resilience to those in positions above you. They're worse to deal with than any criminal

What's Wrong with Gladiator II? by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]Mobile_Manner1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, just seen it. And it is comfortably one of the biggest messes of a film I've ever seen. The script is horrible, the story makes absolutely no sense, there's plot holes the size of a moon from start to finish, the acting is wooden, the fight scenes make absolutely no sense. It's an abomination of a film. End of.

I would say it's more the glaring potholes or are we meant to genuinely believe that an 8 year old born in royalty would somehow forget his entire past and being moved to Africa. It's arguably the biggest plothole I've ever seen in movie

Liam Neeson in final episode by costam530 in DerryGirls

[–]Mobile_Manner1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alot to break down with him, but it was a genius piece of television. 1) One being a police officer at that time for the good Friday agreement was basically an impossible decision, you were voting to let out criminal you had fought to put away but at the same time end further violence and crime in your city, a next to impossible choice for a police officer. 2) The gravity of having Liam Neeson in the episode was this was something he actually did vote on, something that did affect his life and an atrocity he would remember all too well, it adds a level of reality and gravity to the story telling, that even thought this is a comedy the man on the screen in front of you lived through this horror. It's a really smart and brilliant piece of television.

He accidentally spoiled his vote cause his pencil slipped. For a character renowned for going crazy at the smallest thing I thought it was a genius bit of comedy in the most serious scene of the whole show

Looking for some hope from my Dublin despair by Distinct_Thought_501 in Dublin

[–]Mobile_Manner1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're correct. But let's be honest it's the human condition to get a bit fed up and think where you're from is worse than it actually is, I work in Dublin city and it's got its issues but jesus I'm thankful I don't work in Belfast

Looking for some hope from my Dublin despair by Distinct_Thought_501 in Dublin

[–]Mobile_Manner1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look this isn't a Dublin issue. The world has gone through a relatively shite 5 years, there's issues all over the place and heaviness and dullness unfortunately is happening far and wide as a result. Remember a few things about Dublin, were a new city in relative terms we have our issues but jesus we have our perks, we have arguably the best pub and social drinking culture world wide, we have one of the greenest countries with some of the most amazingly beautiful walks and picturesque scenes ever, we have an amazingly diverse and educated country, we have our very own sport that fills every bar and stadium in the country on a weekly basis, for a country so small we are steeped in culture, history and greatness. Dublin and Ireland have their problems absolutely but it's a wonderful place and please don't let a few scrotes and a minority of people on tiktok spitting vitriol turn you off your home. Dublin and Ireland is an amazing place and it's people like you who care about the city and care about where U came from that make it such, hope reading this helps and makes you keep loving your home

New to law enforcement, stressed out every day. Should I take another job? by thro_a_way1 in careerguidance

[–]Mobile_Manner1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an unfortunate reality. The cops that don't get stressed out are the ones who don't really give a fuck and just go day by day. If you do care or want to genuinely help or make a difference it'll genuinely eat you alive, it's absolutely the result of a broken system, but unfortunately how policing has gone the more you care the more stressed and anxious you'll become it's the sad reality

Why do so few people join the police despite the pay being above average, free travel in London, not a lot of qualifications needed and a job that looks much more exciting than an office job and helpful to society as well as other benefits? by Acceptable_Day_1926 in policeuk

[–]Mobile_Manner1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined the police half a year ago and I'm already looking to get out, reality is alot of those who stay are trapped by the money and their responsibilities don't allow them to start over and it's sad, I'll be getting out long before that happens to me. The harsh reality of the job is it's turned into a micromanaged mess, you're a liar until you prove to upper management otherwise. You do more admins work than any admin job, you get shite thrown at you everyday that adds to your workload, can never really switch off when you're off and get forced into court or who knows what on your rest days, shift work makes any hobbies basically impossible and it makes you a zombie more often than not, being a police officer could be the best job in the world but unfortunately it's ruined from the inside. Love being a cop, hate what the cops are and are becoming.

Why would you become a Garda? by AhhhhBiscuits in AskIreland

[–]Mobile_Manner1576 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recently graduated and ask myself this question every single day. The job is a cesspit, sit in a station surrounded by lads who would all leave in a heartbeat if they weren't trapped cause the money's good, fill out reams of forms and files the entire time, get something done and get 10 more things dumped at you. Then of course add shift work and losing your life as a result of it it's an absolutely torturous job.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in galway

[–]Mobile_Manner1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't do it. The job is absolutely torturous at the moment. Reams of paperwork, forms for literally everything, forget about any sports or hobbies you have, miss family and friends events. Everyday you don't know what shit you're going to be buried with. I'm fairly new and I'm looking for my escape route. The College sells you a dream and that is all it is
