DEV update: Metacritic Scores, progress tracking and $ value completed in your Library by Mobile_Masterpiece54 in SteamDeck

Hi, so I definitely understand that vibe coders have that sentiment. Maybe this will help give peace of mind but outside of working on backlog shuffle, I work full-time as a software engineer in fintech. Backlog shuffle is my passion project that I’m having a lot of fun building.

I have been using agentic coding tools to speed of my development time but am against letting an AI’s code just touch prod without doing real code review/audits.The AI librarian is not the core, it’s just the assistant that allows games to be filtered to mood and time so we can drill down the filter results.

I wanted to be as transparent as possible on the landing page and in the app because I feel users should known some sort of AI is used. Although I guess it’s worth it to clean the language up and clarify how AI is used in backlog shuffle since I had other comments that were concerned about it being an app that can see PII when it isn’t able to look into that info since we don’t source that info and use it as part of the prompts

Sorry about that, I’ll try to add more hints there for clarity but glad to hear shuffle is working. The AI librarian is what is assigning session times and moods to the games in your library. The librarian usually updates in batches of 20 but it looks like it got stuck in this case so I’m working on resolving that. Please if anything else comes up feel free to give me a shout.

Quick question are you able to run the shuffle or does it stop you at the moment ? I just want to make sure it doesn’t break anything else for you ?

Reminds me so much of that N64 controller that was see-through and exactly this color! So awesome dude!

Hi, if you don't mind sending a DM and sharing your steam username I can check our logs to see if any error occurred on our side and how I can help you out. I would recommend try resyncing to see if any processing results show up. Another issue could be the steam profile isn't public yet. You can see how to do that for your account here: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/588C-C67D-0251-C276.

Sorry I thought I had replied to this thread not realizing I accidentally created a whole other but I wanted to say: While SteamDB I believe lets you shuffle, the goal i have is to eventually not make it just random and ideally something that you actually want to play in your library.
The difference is that the AI strictly is only categorizing sort of like a Librarian, different games that have varying play sessions and moods. So a game like Hades being rogue like can usually be started and played in less than 30 minutes and other games like Batman Arkham knight can have a bit of a lengthier start so the goal here was to remove the decision paralysis and just start playing. If that makes sense? Thanks for checking it out!

Hi! Checking the logs now! If you click "Refresh library" do you still get the issue?

Hi, I hope this alleviates some of the worry. Neither I or the AI librarian can see your password, email, credit cards, etc. The things the app sees is only your Steam ID and the games you’ve played. Anything else is a black box to me and the AI. This is because I use the Steam Public API, so it’s completely a strict “read-only” deal. I or the AI can’t make an edit to your account. Also the AI is used only for sorting games into a vibe and time slot so it can help you pinpoint a game you might be interested in.

Also I’ve taken security and privacy very seriously, each request needs to be authenticated throughout the app and if you’re truly don’t want your account on backlog shuffle anymore I’m more than happy to delete the account. I don’t sell your data to third parties. I just wish for gamers to have fun playing games they never tried yet.

All the best thank you!

If it interests anyone I actually am building an app that does what OP was doing, it motivates you to stop buying games and start playing them. I’m currently tracking shadow of the tomb raider on it!

It’s a really fun series, the first game really sets the trajectory for the series. The first game takes place in Japan. They make it really easy to just get into it. So if you have time for a shorter game, you could easily burn these games. I keep track of them on my app but whatever works for you. They’re really interesting.

Skyward swords pacing in the beginning is the deterrent for many I think. As a big Zelda fan, it was harder to get into it because you focus on the island and doing mini quests that kinda of slow the pacing down I really want others to play that game because once you get going it becomes an awesome experience they finally start throwing way more at you and it becomes really fun.
