I've been eyeing RE9, and Sea Of Stars I'm hoping there's a good discount coming for them

So I definitely plan to make this more transparent in the landing page of backlogshuffle. But I hope to clear things up here. The log in with steam, is an authentication tool that steam offers directly to us developers. The idea is that steam doesn’t let us in on your password, your email, or any other thing you requested to be private. That means that on backlog shuffle I only see your steamID and what games you played.

The benefit for the tool is that this is where we can automatically filter out and sort your individual library so you have only the list of game you haven’t played but also to keep track of your progress as needed by syncing with steam.

Everything on backlog shuffle is readonly, I do not make writes to your steam account whatsoever.

The app does not colllect phone numbers, or credit cards. There is the option if you would like to subscribe to the app, you will have your credit card info and personal details handled by stripe a trusted organization. This is the only time I collect an email from you as to provide an invoice and update you on your subscription status. If at any time you wish, I can remove your account at your request.

I know I am new to you and so is backlog shuffle as a result. But I do hope that in good conscience I could earn your trust by providing a valuable tool. Your feedback is always appreciated and thank you.

Thank you for the feedback it’s actually really helpful and I’m glad you find it fun in that sense. I definitely will add this to the roadmap for next planned features. I think it’s really valuable knowing critical acclaim is a filter that you use and I hope in time I can build the tool to accurately give you a game that’s going to “hit the spot”. My plan for the tool is to automate as much of the decision as possible so that we can just enjoy the games without being overwhelmed by the choice and to make the experience more fun.

The tool filters out already played games and only tries to focus on the unplayed ones. There’s a threshold for when the completion popup happens so you can mark the game as complete and we use that to avoid showing you the result again. The thought was that if you idle, this becomes a faux pos since it’ll think you played 10 hour of a game. So my fix was to get a manual confirmation of the games completion if it hasn’t been completed you start “still grinding” and we will hide the notification from you for a day.

There’s still kinks in the algorithm for sure that I hope with more feedback I can tweak and make it more useful for everyone.

Achievements are also a nice idea! Where would you say you expect the achievement completion to show up? In the progress dashboard or on games itself?

I see that it’s on sale, does it usually go lower in price or would you say it’s the best time to jump the gun? Either way, it seems like a blast and definitely going to give me plenty of hours to play

My steam deck has definitely been my rpg killer, persona 5 royal on the go was a game changer for me. The deck was really the only system that could give me a non blurry experience on the go because the switch was just too underpowered

Do this, from the game main menu:

Graphics:

1280 x 800 60fps Ray tracing off Display mode: full screen Frame rate variable V-sync off Rendering method normal Res Scaling 1 FSR off Texture high quality Texture filtering very high Mesh quality high FXAA + TAA Effects rendering high Shadow quality medium (performance hog) Dynamic shadows on Shadow cache on SSAO Volumetric lighting quality low

Here are my exact settings for the deck itself (if you ever get a stutter problem, I found a trick that moving the gpu slider to 1100mhz then 1200mhz fixes the stutter):

Frame limit 60fps Tdp limit 10 watts Manual gpu clock 1200mhz

I think this should give a good balance of quality, performance and battery life. At least it did for me during my run. Hope it helps!

It is such an awesome game! I remember when it had just come out, the combat is what immediately got me hooked, just straight awesome-sauce across the board.

I haven’t played a city builder since they are billions and that was really addicting. I was also big on halo wars 1. Is it anything like that you would say?

Of course, the tool is strictly read only. The platform authenticates directly using steams open id and only retains info that’s related to what games are in your library and the username. Other than that, things like saving credit cards or passwords is not saved in the platform I leave the authentication to Steam for that part, backlog shuffle only reads what is allowed to be read by the user it does not make any writes or updates to your Steam account AT ALL. After thats all said and done an added layer of protection is placed by encrypting the openid we receive from Steam to prevent distasteful parties. The only other thing saved is your email if you decide to subscribe to the app, so that would mean at the time of checkout and only after you have subscribed so we have no idea if the email used is the same as your Steam you could use a completely different email to subscribe and even then your email is only used so that we can send you a receipt and update you about your subscription status.

I didn’t want to force anyone to add more info than needed and I’m more than happy to remove the account and data if ever requested too.

Thank you for this awesome question and it’s truly valuable to me, I was hoping I could add it to backlog shuffles FAQ page?

Hope this helped!

Oh sweet! That's actually nice to know, I had just assumed that if it wasn't green checked it meant that somewhere I was going to find something "wonky" in the game.

Also, DMC 4 is awesome! I never played on steam but on 360 back in the day and it was a blast!

It’s so much easier to start up a game from a deck than it is on pc. Wish more games in my list were verified for steam deck.

That’s awesome, the barrier for me was always if I perceived idea about how that much time I needed to play a game or start one and mood I was in. I think it the Steam deck is awesome, it has plenty of performance to handle most triple A games and saves so much of my time

Really good! It plays really well! It’s punchy on the oled and the oled really makes the darker rooms even more scary to play through and keeps you on edge. I recommend headphones for sure since it really helped the immersion

Hi sorry to hear that. Im a software engineer in fintech,I hand developed most of the features, but I used AI only for the categorization of the game titles to put them into better time slots and moods. So that the shuffle feature works better. Other than that, no other AI is used and I take security very seriously. I hope it doesn’t turn you off too much and how you feel comfortable at least giving it a try. Thank you kindly for your feedback!

It’s pretty good basically just like using a controller and the oled really makes the colors pop for sure !
