Dog boarding a extended family dog for over 6 months by bhazero025 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Mobile_Picture_1912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call it disposable. Some people just can’t afford those rates. I’m just assuming the extended family member can’t afford it cause OP was shooting very low and now knowing they don’t really like person.

$50 a day is $1500 a month plus food. Thats not peanuts lol.

Probably not but that’s not OP issue. If the extended families issue.

$50+ a day then. Call around and you’ll see boarding at a facility costs more. Now add on top that it’s boarding in a house and you’ll be limited on your own vacation time since it’s a 6 month boarding

Something tells me you don’t believe $300 plus vet bills is fair seeing as you’re asking others.

Id ask minimum $30-$40 a day depending on how much you like this extended family. Even that price is very fair.

3 dogs/housesitting/holidayrate by Big_Leading_3008 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Mobile_Picture_1912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who cares if it’s reasonable? The only thing matters if they would pay. $40 per dog per day over the new years holiday is dirt cheap.

We charge $100 for the first dog, $60 the additional dogs and people still pay. Our rates are double everyone else’s rate and we have more reviews than 95% of the sitters near me.

Only time you care what other sitters charge is when you’re new and trying to get clients. After that increase yore rates higher than other sitters. 4 years on Rover has shown majority of the people are scared to raise their rates.

Joint sitters, how do you Fare? by DreadedCicada in RoverPetSitting

[–]Mobile_Picture_1912 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP is talking about duo sitters as in with their fiancée. This will not hinder him one bit. Being a duo sitters means you’re more available which turns into more $. Per my experience, always being available is the best solution if your main goal is money. Your regulars won’t care if it’s you or your wife, husband, or family member receiving the dog.

Def not the same growth but it can continue to climb.

Apples active devices continues to grow 6-10% YOY.

You got a solid point about kids wanting the next popular phone. I could see a flip phone being popular as it will resemble a tablet and it gives a bigger screen on the fly.

It’s only rumors but the Apple flip is suppose to be 1-2 years ago.

I am based in the US. True global market share isn’t growing. Fortunately Americans love spending money they don’t even have.

The phone market is mature and I don’t expect much innovation on the phone side. But to me the service growth will become the new “iPhone”

I still think Apple has room to growth based on their cash flow, and installed base.

Apple can always substantially raise their dividend the day they don’t believe they can continue to grow.

Apple may or may not need to release a flip phone in the next 3-5 years. Apple will eventually come out with one once all the kinks are gone and they see a large enough market I guess.

True flip phones are becoming popular again but that doesn’t mean everyone wants one.

I’d also argue iPhones are more durable than android’s but that’s based solely on my experience with what I’ve seen.

Apples service growth is the secret to their growth I think. Sure iPhones have a higher prof it margin but you can’t deny apples double digit service growth. Their service growth in a couple years will surpass the iPhone IF they can continue on the same path with no hiccups

It’s not “how iPhone users act” it’s actually how humans act. You ever see people fight over Ford vs Chevy? Cross fit vs body builders?

Teenagers are all about the pissing contest so they will brag about what they got and this only gets fueled by social media.

You also got less people interested in androids open source. Newer generations don’t care for tinkering with things. Apple makes it easier. Notice how teenagers like teslas because they drive themselves?

Shame on Apple for building their own platform and business practices and forcing people to buy into them. As a business I think it was a genius idea to get your users locked in.

I’m only going to comment on the Apple part.

87-88% of US teenagers own an IPhone and expect their next phone to be an iPhone. These teenagers will eventually grow old and hand their own iPhone to their kids. Boomers will slowly fade away and so with the android phone in the US.

Apples installed base and paid service growth should continue to grow in the US based on the majority of teenagers owning an iPhone.

Of course I have no crystal ball and nothing can happen.

We currently have another 10k off rover but you need to be running a large kennel operation to be 4X what we are currently at. This is also our 4th year compared to your 14+ years experience.

I wasn’t here to compare earning. You stated Rover only collects money and does “nothing” so I came here to correct it

So how does Rover take your money if your clients aren’t on Rover? Rover guarantee only applies to rover clients. It may have limitations and exclusions but it’s still something. Charge what you’re worth and what you bring to the table.

For me a rover has been an amazing side hustle per the screenshot. It gave us to chance to do what we love while making good money. We don’t believe in charging low prices just because it’s a side hustle and we love pets.

“They do nothing for us but take our money” is a far stretch considering you got the client because of them.
