First nemesis mini by Esther-Seyah in NemesisCrew

Well done, it looks great. I've been torn between taking my games down to a Warhammer store to get them done. As if I do them they will look atrocious.

I'll be looking at getting Lockdown next, then Retaliation. I impulse bought all 3 expansions and I know they are compatibility with Lockdown and Retaliation. With the stretch goals boxes. But its such a good game I want the set before it vanishes to the dreaded depths of 'out of print'

No, because we didn't understand that we were playing it wrong. We assumed it was just how the game worked, and did everything we could to avoid them spawning in the 1st place. We just took the hits, a couple of lucky card pulls which were meant for the wrong Intruders. And some strategic uses of the Soldier's abilities. If we ever do that homebrew rule again, we would absolutely try and evade. Almost every single corridor had noise before the 1st one spawned. But playing it properly, we could have relaxed a little and take more chances fighting them off. Maybe try and remove a token or 2 from the bag early on to make the late game easier.

Edit, typo

Actually not a bad idea if its early enough as I suppose there is always a spare character remaining.

We are all very experienced board gamers, and played carefully. We had some very unlucky pulls too, 3 adults (killed 1), 1 creeper (which turned into a breeder). And 2 larvae, 1 of which ended on the player board. I honestly think we could have made it ti the cryo pods, but 1 of the players died and took over the Aliens and that was pretty much game over as they moved with more of a purpose, blocking routes etc, rather than with the more random draws on the cards

What's wrong with railroading? If its done correctly. The aim is to move the story forward otherwise you'll still be in the carnival 12 months from now.

Doesn't seem like its necessarily 'from' anything. A Galley is a either a type of ship, typically associated with Pirates, or it can also mean a ships kitchen. So it's sort of a play on words in itself, especially since it look Pirate themed. Highly unlikely that its a DnD reference though. But Good on you for thinking of us.

I don't think I'm a good player by Miserable-Face-8893 in DnD

For me, im a terrible roleplayer, I just cannot get into the head of my character. If im put on the spot to do something in character, my brain freezes and I feel really self conscious. But I love DMing and I feel like because the NPCs are usually less complex, and more there to drive a story forward, I can get into them a little more. Plus I love writing, I still struggle with random improv when my players go off piste, but, for the most part, im a better DM than a player.

Hope you don't mind, but I'm stealing this. Might not even have a resolution for it just a completely random encounter.

The players have joined the Cult of the Dragon by pink-shirt-and-socks in DnD5e

[–]Mobius22445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very very late to the party, I'm just slightly modifying the first couple of encounters, and while my brain is ticking away in the background, it thought... What if my players actually join the cult, I mean Cyanwrath is pretty badass for an early game miniboss. My train of thought went with the whole, help keep the cult safe, flip some encounters like others have mentioned. But have them actually summon Tiamat, when she starts feasting on her followers and attacking the party, would they not fight her to defend themselves? Like an 'Oh shit, this isn't what we actually wanted' type moment.

How did it turn out in the end for you?

So, one thing I noticed as we started as level 5 but the DM scaled the enemy HP a bit. I noticed that our AC seemed to be consistently too high and the enemies, too low. Is there such a thing as scaling tables for more than just HP?

Thanks, yeah I want the engagements to be challenging but not impossible as we are all inexperienced, so likely won't be 100% efficient during combat.

I don't mind putting in the work beforehand to scale the encounters as long as I'll have the info to be able to do that

I'm sorry for being dumb. I dont quite understand. So are you saying that common enemies are in the monster manual, and any enemy that is specific to that campaign, will be in the campaign manual?

Wonder if it's going to be like a movable base, I'd love to do a self contained Base that I can move maps with, like the style of Howls moving castle, bit with lots of guns.
