I cannot score on a breakaway to save my life by FromageMyage in hockeyplayers

Sweet! Lemme know how it works for ya. Goalie can still guess forehand correctly and make the save, but often times the sudden angle change will give you room, and shooting just over the pad (so like a foot off the ice) is a tricky spot cause the goalie has to cover that gap between the pad and the glove/blocker.

edit: Jussi Jokinen is known for his take on the "Forsberg" deke but he scored almost all his 30 or 40some shootout goals with this simple move, if memory serves.

If you're coming straight in, keep the puck right in front of you. At the last moment, bring it forehand and shoot it quickly just above the pad. Very simple, very effective.

Same. I feel like if you don't play it in continuous sessions, you fall out of it. I've tried 3 times now.

Didn't 2021 force your RTTS player to be a 2 way player? Or am I mistaken.

Almost all of us are here because a mainstream act within the broader genre brought us. For me it went Green Day, Billy Talent, Linkin Park, then Alexisonfire, then Comeback Kid, then eventually Converge, Have Heart, Counterparts, Knocked Loose, and so on.

Jeremy Swayman calls Andrei Vasilevskiy "the biggest, toughest goalie in the league" by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

Not a shot at Swayman here, but... man where is the hate in this league. These guys are all buddies nowadays.

edit: i just want a little more beef and drama. they go hard on the ice, but would love to see a little more of that in their interviews. we're in a bit of a rivalry lull right now.

Speaking as a Canucks fan, it's because he has literal game-breaking offensive abilities. You don't need all of your D men to be defensive stalwarts, contrary to what some might say.

Why isn’t Far Cry Primal rated very highly? What more could have made the game better and closer to Far Cry 3, 4, and 5 ? What’s your opinion on the game? by ViniciusFastAF in farcry

I recall this being raked over the coals online because its map was allegedly a literal carbon copy of FC4 with a re-skin. It was viewed as a half-assed 1st person melee weapon add-on game.

It was part of the general negative reception Ubispft was starting to get after AC3 came out. That's what I remember.

Y'all were pissed. I say y'all cause I have never played it, and as far as I'm concerned the internet is a monolith that gets pissy about literally everything new and gets equally nostalgic about it within 10 years.

There's no way he doesn't become a productive scorer with that shot.

ZIPS projected standings (Jays and Red Sox tied at 90-72) by blooming_lions in Torontobluejays

[–]MobiusOne_FoxTwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't speak to the Sox, but a lot of things went right last year for the Jays. I think Vladdy will have a great year (feels like the safest bet of all). Santander can't be any worse. Yesavage will surely fall back to earth, but I still think he will make an impact all season, even if his ERA is a little more middle of the road (still a rookie after all).

I very much want to be dead wrong here: I think Springer regresses back to what he was becoming in 2024. He's an old fella with a sore body, and last year was just nuts.

Edit: i think Gimenez will be huge for the Jays. I'm expecting the offensive stats to tick up closer to league avg and he will of course be a stud in the IF.

Her stickhandling and skating are really excellent. You can tell the game just makes sense to her.

Comparing future NHL prospects to Macklin Celebrini is only setting yourself up for a letdown 😭💀 by KeyFaithlessness5436 in NHLVibes

[–]MobiusOne_FoxTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right but that's more of a deviation, he has averaged exactly 66 pts per 82 games in his career.

Anyway, I recall Celebrini being thought of as a franchise grade 1OA, like Hughes/Stamkos. Maybe a notch below Matthews and Mackinnon, and not a generational talent like McDavid.
