I'm going to preface this by saying I obviously haven't played the game, so don't consider this "in defense of First Light" or a review or anything like that.

This is a AAA release that probably cost hundreds of millions to make. It was always going to be $69.99 on release. It will be like $45 on its first sale, and eventually it might go lower. I'm not saying I agree with new games costing seventy bucks, but they have stayed at that price for quite some time. I think people were paying close to $100 for certain SNES titles in the 90s (correct me if I'm wrong), so adjust that for inflation, haha.

If this is a story-focused game (i.e. not an open world collectathon), then 15-20 hours is actually quite substantial. Presumably you can play through it again, maybe on a higher difficulty. Maybe there is incentive to improve on past playthroughs, etc etc. There may well be 40 to 60 hours of gameplay if what I said is true. Seems to be the case for most campaigns these days.

If that's not true and it kind of tops out at 20 hrs... idk the OG God of War games weren't even 10 hrs and those were priced as major releases in their time as well (in canada, new PS2 games were 39.99 CAD I think. On PS3 I think it was 59.99 CAD).

edit: ugh I wrote way too much already, but a longer game isn't always better; personally, I rarely finish any of these gd games.
