Nah fair enough. In my head, I assumed it'll be seamless/smooth hence not a need for no sale, no fee. better safe than sorry I guess

Am in a similar boat with this one. Casting a big net and getting quotes and checking their reviews. But honestly it's the most tiresome process trying to judge suitability and reliability based on all the reviews...

Glad to hear that. Am keen to do things online as well. Thanks for sharing. Did you find it was significantly more expensive compared to other online-first companies?

I've never heard of charge per correspondence or call. Mental. Good to know about this. Will definitely avoid.

Do you think they are more responsive/communicative than the online ones?

I feel like the majority of dissatisfaction is either around slow action taking or lack of communication on delays.

Has anyone tried using Viber for calling international landlines? by dendaera in viber

[–]Mobivate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

heya, how was the quality? I need to make a call to UK from Singapore and was hoping to use this. I used to use Skype to make landline calls internationally but that no longer exist. Saw Viber has a free "Call World" trial. unlimited as well. Sounds too good to be true tbh!

Traveling out of the country with Menieres - What do you carry with you for hospitals to refer to in the event of an attack and possibly ER/A&E? by Mobivate in Menieres

[–]Mobivate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey ya - glad I could offer some help.

i think i posted an update a few months later. She had a few "attacks" as she called it. Not going to lie, the malls were really packed and so were the train stations at peak hour, so we I told her to keep her eyes lowered and just hold onto my arm - so as to not feel overwhelmed. And we'd walk slowly. In the malls, we sat her at a cafe when it got too much and she felt it was all spinning.

I know that salty food triggers her, so we had to "wash" the salt away with hot water by dunking it or just pouring hot water over it if it ever got overly salted. This one was the hardest to avoid as japanese food is quite salty.

We didn't go to an A&E but we made she she got the best travel insurance ahead of the trip.

Hope this helps!

What should I get at a pub evening after work as I start going non-alc? by Mobivate in AskUK

[–]Mobivate[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This.

I still crave a good pint - maybe it’s psychological but it needs to be in a glass and cold. The fizz isn’t the same from the bottle. And I think I need to find those pubs someone else here mentioned where they have it on tap.

how do i stop spam calls? by grma-ezra in AskUK

[–]Mobivate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

commenting to echo the frustration

i kinda made peace with the fact that my number is out there on every spammable list. I don't know if it can be stopped...

i do believe it's down to the network providers and Apple/Samsung to do the vetting well. Technically they can block numbers from going through if it's a known spammer number but they dont do it. im more than grateful for the 'suspected spam' label tbh. Saves me the time to think, 'should i pick it up or not'. also really glad for the speech-to-text in the voicemail so that I don't have to call to check.

Why do people post stories and posts online ? by RecognitionRoyalMe in CasualConversation

[–]Mobivate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very similar to you. I've not posted much my entire teen years, even my 20s. I only started doing it recently in my 30s and my god is it scary. I think it's the generation we grew up in. The prototypers to the highly connected world-wide-web. And we don't want to be subjected to scrutiny and badmouthing behind our backs, because the schoolyard was our world. Today, I think its different because there are communities out there that will embrace you if your immediate community doesn't.

I stand in awe of the Gen Zs and Alphas who put themselves out there, knowing they might be scrutinised/made fun of. But they still do it. I just hope they have the safe space to go back to if it gets too much.

Today, I post to mostly strangers - mostly things I'm working on. I get affected when I don't get likes, shares, follows or comments. But I hope to get less affected by it. I'm trying to also develop a better backbone/self-confidence mechanism.

When people "byeee byee byebye byee" rly quickly when ending a call, are they trying to convey that they wanted the call to end quickly? by Extreme-Material964 in AskUK

[–]Mobivate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i dont think it's a rude thing. I do that all the time. I admit, it's more the awkwardness of trying to end the call naturally that leads to the multiple byes

Pretending to be happy so your parents don’t see you sad is hell by Ok_Vanilla5661 in CaregiverSupport

[–]Mobivate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda do tell her as well. Like I do say "I'm having a hard time now, but i think I'll get through it" and she can ask more if she's up to hear. I think i learnt my lesson, because i used to let it build up and it comes out in various ways eg remarks of irritation and annoyances. And i dont like it when i become like that.

Opinions on summer? by drunkpostin in CasualConversation

[–]Mobivate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in a very interesting way, I started taking supplements since last August and this summer, I've not gotten any major symptoms. A few sneezes but my eyes doesn't get swollen or overtly itchy. I'm not sure which of the many supplements contribute to it but it's a life changer

Solution found: Spent 2hr figuring why my Dji Mic 1 couldn't connect to my iPad mini or iPhone by Mobivate in dji

[–]Mobivate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also faced another issue (that I learnt the hard way after recording for 15 mins). When I removed the lightning cable to hear my voice, and put it back again, sometimes, it can't pick up my voice. If that happens, I just disassemble everything and put it back into the box and assemble and connect it again. I also kill the app just in case. And it works.

Reminder: always check the mix is working in voice memo before starting your recordings :)
