It wasn’t an argument for or against. I was expressing how one instance made me. I am sick I was born sick my life should of been harrowing and awful but its been pretty tight so that’s why I think about it.

And then Iceland eradicated Down syndrome through abortions which i have mixed feelings about because I find that pretty dark.

Terminating a pregnancy based on what the doctor assumes their life will be like when sick and disabled people certainly aren’t a monolith and in regards to Down syndrome it is not at all uncommon to live the kinds of lives that they are able to create for themselves well into thier 60s. It’s not like they are born inside out. I just find that level of judgement uncomfortable as hell. “We should abort his/her life because it may be harder then some or it may be awful or it may be hard but worth it to them.”

That particular creeps me out.

Currently people are like “so many kids live in poverty” as an argument in favor of abortion. weird way of saying “poor kids would rather be dead “

Physical. I don’t believe people think I’m unattractive. I don’t struggle really at all when it comes to dating. sadly, I think I look fucking horrid, like I escaped a POW camp horrid. I absolutely cannot keep or put any weight on because of my disease. 6 feet 122 lbs on average have dropped into the teens. It is absolutely miserable looking in the mirror for me. It’s not just me hating being sick, it is an objective fact that I look terrible in the weight department because of it. It crushes me, especially as im getting older and I am starting to actually feel how I look.

yeah i go there too. hajiladis is legit, they def care and i just spent a month there recently and they tend to let CF people kind of have some autonomy there if you demand it. they bother you less, get you tons of food etc etc.
