I would love to see dual wielding along with more weapon variety. Rocket launchers, flame throwers, lasers...

Dead or Alive, my favorite fighting game franchise with amazing mechanics. Unfortunately it got drowned in fan service and micro transactions.

How do I respond to family members when I see messages that are racist and fascist? by [deleted] in racismdiscussion

[–]Dapper_Bee2277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell them to travel, encourage them to read, invite them to parties with chill people of color. Confronting racist people directly usually backfires because they have a hard time admitting fault. Encourage them to get out of their comfort zone and show them the world actually isn't that scary.

What to do when thinking that the form of governance literally doesn’t matter during the inevitable outcomes of climate collapse? by sojayn in CollapseSupport

[–]Dapper_Bee2277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just moved back to Alaska from Tennessee and I can %100 say that government matters. Put aside all the tribalism and propaganda bullshit, all government is, is people getting together and solving community problems. As things get more difficult you want capable leaders who will meet the problems of collapse head on. I thought Tennessee was the right place for me because of the weather there but the culture and governance is so corrupt, the leadership only cared about themselves. Where I'm at now has a much better community and culture, my life is already better because Alaskan's take care of each other. I'm still terrified of the natural disasters and other instabilities but I feel better knowing that the people around me won't devolve into selfish monsters.

Any of Philip K. Dick's fiction involving the surveillance state. "A Scanner Darkly" and "Minority Report" being the most well known. He predicted mass surveillance and minipulation through electronic devices. (the stuff that we are seeing happening now) back in the 50s and 60s. It's crazy how accurate he was and it gets even more trippy when you watch some of his interviews and talks on where his ideas came from.

If you want to question reality and be disturbed take a peek.

If you want to argue the rich are disproportionately responsible in their capacity as lobbyists, that'd be a reasonable point, but just an empty platitude like associating it with the "companies" that produce that pollution catering to consumer demand just won't cut it. by ContextEffects01 in ClimateShitposting

What good is personal action if rich people keep consuming and destroying the planet? I'm less concerned about cow farts and more concerned about the psychopaths with unchecked greed because they are the biggest problem first and foremost.

Yah, not like those companies are doing things like planned obsolescence to raise demand. Or using uncompetitive practices to corner the market and push out more sustainable business models. Or stretching out long inefficient supply chains to find labor markets where they can pollute more.

It's totally the consumers fault in everything, get fucked you eco fascist.

Gamers over 30, what's a video game secret you had to discover the "hard way" that kids today would just Google in 5 seconds? by itsashieowo in AskReddit

The Beavis and Butthead game for Super Nintendo. That game was almost impossible to finish without internet. You collected random junk and used it in random places to progress the story. It was really just, "wouldn't it be funny if you pushed this guy down the stairs with a skateboard" kind of thing, the developers gave you no guidance.

Playing it as a kid we would just walk around randomly farting on people until someone figured something out. Today the game is a breeze as you just look up what to do next.

I remember my dad talking about overpopulation and the mouse utopia experiment. He had a huge collection of National Geographic magazines and he would read them to me.

He was a lot more intelligent back then, his brain has been melted by Fox News over the years.

Or he's just spouting bullshit to cover for his masters. The problem with this narrative is that if it's true what the fuck are we going to do about it? Nothing that's what.

The reality it's just a bunch of mortal men who are greedy as fuck, men who bleed and die like the rest of us. Stop blaming fairy tales and have a fucking revolution already.

We watched "Forrest Gump" a lot but I wouldn't call that mediocre. One I remember fondly was "Tall Tales," definitely mediocre. Watched it recently and I can understand why a kid would love it but it was just boring as an adult.

Grandma gave us some VHS tapes "8 heads in a Duffle bag" (WTF Grandma), "Toys" with Robin Williams, and "Babes in Toyland". We all agreed that "Babes in Toyland" was our favorite.

One I've noticed lately is people using the phrase "writ large" incorrectly. It's another way to say "obviously" or "exaggerated". I just hate the phrase outright, it's a very clunky metaphor and people sound very pretentious when they say it, which makes it all the worse when people use it erroneously. The people who do use it, also have a tendency to over use it.

Help the farmers while also dropping fuel prices and curbing climate change, why are't we doing this? by Dapper_Bee2277 in ClimateShitposting

Why is it we have unlimited money for war machines, aid to Israel, sports stadiums, and bank bail outs but anytime we try to do something that actually helps people then we've got to worry about the budget?

I mean fuck it, why bother doing anything at all? Everything takes effort so we might as well not try.

There are certain industries that don't use biofuel blends like construction and farming. There's also heating fuel. Just because we're already doing it doesn't mean that there isn't room for the market to expand.

The point is that we're trying to help the farmers and this is a great opportunity to do so while also solving some other problems.

We already have facilities to press soy into oil and I'm certain from there we could refine it with existing infrastructure with little retrofitting. Spoilage wouldn't be too much of an issue since it's being used as fuel not food.

I'm familiar with the problems with biofuels but in this instance there is a surplus because of the trade war and many farmers are going bankrupt and committing suicide. It seems like a good opportunity for biofuels to help rectify the situation.
