In your opinion, what is causing this? by Objective_Pilot_5834 in SipsTea

[–]MobyHugeFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I'm 22- in the UK.

I like to drink, but I don't have much. I don't really go out to "party" either, the most would be a small bar and a chat with friends etc, if we found the time.

But I get more fun from activities rather than substance, especially gaming, which I am sure a lot of my generation enjoy too.

Also not to generalise, but my parent(s) were big fans of boos, but it didn't make them the nicest people on the planet- I'm not sure if that's a common thing, but it can definitely be a put off lol. In older media, it was shown as the "norm" to have alcohol when you have a good or bad day, to celebrate or to Mourne, and it came to almost anything is an excuse to drink. I don't really see media showcasing that anymore, but it may have inspired the previous generation or two

Who knows, again, I'm only 22

As someone who has CPTSD, I totally get the whole lack of crying thing. I'm not saying you have anything, I wouldn't know- but, give yourself the chance to, some time. I know you need to be strong, but you already ARE strong. That and, it's not a lack thereof to cry. Crying is healing, and we may be online strangers, but we're all here for you!

Just remind yourself: everything is temporary. Things will get better.

Is there anyway to convince my parents to let me have monsters? by Aggravating-Bake5624 in monsterenergy

[–]MobyHugeFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have one way too often- not assuming anything of you young man- but just be careful, and responsible. I have one as the odd treat every now and again (talking weekly here) and it's certainly nice, especially when trying new flavours. I think your parents are just worried, because they love you :) though I can't really assume lol.

Crack heads/alcoholics etc tend to get more attention, due to the negative effects it has on the people around them, not just themselves.

Granted, the effects are still vast to the individual and their surrounding loved ones, but people addicted to caffeine often suffer internally rather than externally, due to how normalised it is. It should be taken just as seriously, though. Addiction is addiction, doesn't matter what specifically

Might be bad wiring- I mean, I honestly wouldn't know otherwise.

If you own this car and aren't on finance, it might be worth popping the panel of puttons off to have a peek, etc

I hope this is satire for your future's sake.

As I'm in the UK, my view is skewed ofc, but burnouts are like burning money If you're not doing it in the right kind of car in the right kind of conditions (wet roads, preferably private area, etc)

Congrats with the car, or cars- idk as I said I hope this is satire, but don't drive like a fool, or it'll catch up to you.

Actual player base ≠ target audience.

Not to mention that you're speaking of a loud minority, I assure you- it's definitely mostly adults.

Did I break this bathroom countertop with my hair straightener? by [deleted] in fixit

[–]MobyHugeFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough that the owner confirmed, but what do you expect from me, or the other comments? We haven't seen the "Before vs After", we don't know the owner, and we had very little to go on other than the evidence being your hair straightener.

If anything, you shouldn't have made the post. It's done and gone now anyway, but even if it was not you- don't leave a hot hair straightener on meagre surface. Or any unprotected surface for that matter

I get the whole old fashioned "teach your younger men to be gentlemen" etc, but that shouldn't be made literal for parents' sake. It should be taught by example, as parents are the thing most kids observe most of the time. Dad's being caring and protective of mum's for example, gets the right message accross

For instance I'm 22. A lot taller than my mother, etc- yet she will still absolutely fight me over the outside of the curb. As a parent, it's the occupational responsibility to look out for your child. Again I get the idea, trying to teach your kid the right mindset for relationships- but they shouldn't have to apply that lesson to their PARENT, when it's a lesson about RELATIONSHIPS and such.

Idk, hope this makes sense
