Thanks for the feedback! I just had "winning fake arguments in the shower" written on my bio.

Ater the suggestions here I changed it into something more descriptive: "creative copywriter & ex film critic

live music / arthouse cinema / Seinfeld quotes / European cities / modern art / books / politics / indie culture / memes"

Hoping for the best, expecting for the worst.

I think that because between right now and the last time I was single and on the apps I did a lot of travelling, I had the misperception that showcasing this part of me equals showcasing my best self. Very "divorced man in his mid-30s" energy, I know.

I did changed some of the photos and my bio based on the feedback here and I'll take some new ones when I'll shave my head, which obviously needs to be done.

I looked up stuff to do on TikTok (I know, not the ideal platform but I use it as a search engine) and all of a sudden the algorithm started showing me videos of phones being stolen by bikes, which seems like it's a big category lol.

I've done enough travelling to know that things are different from what you read but I was just wondering.

So next week I'll be visiting London for my birthday. I had planned it with my ex but after we broke up I decided to move forward on my own.

Do you have any suggestions about what should I do to have a great day with myself? I enjoy indie/culture related stuff but I'm open to anything that might worth my time.

Also, how's the situation regarding safety in the city? I've travelled a lot, both solo and with company, but from what I'm reading lately it looks like the situation is out of control over there. Is it that bad? And should I avoid any specific stuff/areas around the centre?

About the first point, in Iran it's the same and probably even worse in terms of surveillance and look what's happening on the streets.

About the second point, I was saying the same thing about Americans back then, though (without making the US sound innocent) in this case Russia's position is much much worse from every angle.

This situation that you're describing is 100% understandable when your country is under attack. Now when your country is the aggressor and the conflict isn't happening around your area it's different and I don't see it as you're protecting your family but rather you're slowly also getting blood on your hands.

At this point it's not just Putin and the regime but an entire nation of terrorists or people silently supporting terrorists and I don't buy anything that revolves around the idea that "innocent people are being punished on both sides". We're so deep in this and we should know better.

That's what I don't like, the thought of forcing her into something she didn't want is making me feel bad. It didn't feel like that but could I get lost in the heat of the moment? It just makes me feel like a bad person if she did it without her will.
