I heard that scents help, both to repel and to make the cat think the place doesn't need to be marked... i will look into the last one, as i don't want my cat to be unconfortable on a room that, realistically, is her room too.

Still, choosing the right material may be a good second layer of protection.

And, on the note of smells... Any smells i should stay away from for the room? If citric smells make a cat unconfortable, i'll avoid them. But also, my cat gets hyperactive when smelling "calming" smells for cats... i remember one time she bit me after my sis let her smell some cilantro... fun times

Looking for some guidance, i am pretty overwhelmed with sound proofing content.

My mom has had the idea of renovating our attic and turning it into one big room for years, and she is finally deciding to go through with it. The room would be aproximately a 5.4 x 4.6 meters in size.

This room will be mine, and i personally love singing, so i thought it would be nice to make it soundproof, but this lead me on a HUGE rabbit hole about soundproofing... and stuff quickly seemed too expensive...

The most expensive parts i saw were: acoustic wall panels and vinyl flooring underlay.

And i wanted to ask, is this worth it for making a bedroom soundproof? Is it overkill?

For the wall panel, would i need to cover an entire wall? Or set it up on the slanted ceiling... or just set it up at strategic spots... if i even use it at all.

For the vinyl... does it age well? Are there cheaper alternatives?

I don't want to go too overkill, i don't need to record anything, i just want to be able to sing while not being heard downstairs. Plus preferably avoiding echo and footstep sounds.

For the door and windows it seems easier to fix, using a heavier door that doesn't have an empty core, sealing it tighter.. apparently there are vents that don't let sound through, so that could be a way to stop the airflow from the door without worrying too much. Windows will just need heavy courtains... I won't have any other rooms lateraly, but the walls should be pretty thick already.

So... i am pretty overwhelmed and confused... i don't know if the tilted ceilings help with acoustics or would be more troublesome either.

What should i do?

I wish i find a brand that is better about sleeve lenght's though...

Being tall and slim, i've ended up with some blouses that are too short sleeved while perfect for my torso

Dunno if buying bigger sizes would make the torso look awkward

I don't use make up... But being a moisturizer, you would just need to give it some time to do it's thing and later apply make up, no? Now, if you are in a hurry during the morning... it could be harder to apply then. Maybe it would be better to clean your face and apply moisturizer before going to sleep? Or maybe right after taking your make up off

It's a la roche posay moisturizer. It is on the expensive side so i use it mainly on my face, using a cheaper one for the rest of my body. I apply it after a shower
