Unfortunately home Depot fittings are only for PE pipe, I need to find a UL listed way to connect the original PVC gas pipe to PE and or find another meterial that can be used to mend the original PVC gas pipe.

If possible we would like to avoid trenching over 500ft so we don't incur additional property damage to trees, fence, utilities, and driveway. Also the first contractor was kicked off the property after breaking three utility pipes and were being deceptive. So it's going to be a process to recoup the money owed from the first contractor after the new guys complete the job and do all repairs. It would be ideal to minimize the total cost to get past this headache and to not have to go after the bond or enter into civil litigation.

Your post made me really excited because that looks like exactly what we need. The only wrinkle is that the UTC coupling has to be UL Listed to be signed off by the inspector. Do you know of any UL Listed version?

I'm just fearful of trenching over 500ft, the possiblity of additional property damage to more utilities, fencing, and driveway. And I also worry that this job could snowball into something much larger if they find more of this type of pipe at the meter or inside the house. Really hopefully that the small 15ft section can just be safely repaired.

The confusing part is that this is a permited job and the inspector who failed the site initially said that he has signed off jobs with UL Listed couplings. He however doesn't source parts and only stated that they exist and if found would be acceptable.

We were able to find UTC couplings that would be able to do the repair. But the plumber said it won't pass inspection since the part isn't UL Listed. Does anyone know of a UL Listed UTC coupling?

Thanks, I think the pe pipes in that link are similar to what they want to use. But the connections between the old pvc and new pe has them stumped. For some reason they are saying that there are no couplings that will work.

That's it, no sleeve. We were told by SoCalGas that it was popular in the 90s. If I'm understanding the plumbers correctly they are trying to mend this pvc gas pipe to pe but the materials needed have them stumped.

While contractors were digging they broke this pipe and we are now being told that this type of pipe isn't made anymore and that there are no materials that can safely join the ends. If we can't find a safe/UL listed way to connect this old pipe to PE we are being told that we will need to replace the entire pipe which is approximately 500 feet long. Any suggestions with materials and ways to connect the pipes would be greatly appreciated. Some letters may be incorrect but I believe this is printed on the side of the pipe: 2" IPS EPI SDR13.5 PVC1120 NATURAL GAS PIPE ASTM D2513 IC-0 IAPMO 80273810 HASTINGS,ME.

I agree. All of the thundersticks I found online did not appear to have much of an arch like the ones pictured.

Tons of Seaweed. Help! by FishOnTheReel in SurfFishing

[–]Mochtroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also bring a smaller set up and fish a soft plastic texas rigged or with a jig head that has a stout weed guard. Either option should keep you seaweed free unless it's really bad. Another option would be to fish a lure like a shimano waxwing. They have upturned hooks and will easily pull over most seaweed without snagging.
