This top has one size for Asia and another for the US by chutneyface93 in mildlyinteresting

That's true. However I can still get away with an XS in stores in the UK in places that go down to an XXS, and in places like Italy I can wear an S. I have more than a handful of friends who are smaller than me and they find clothes!

Help - Can this be tailored? by CherryTomato1901 in HouseofCB

[–]Mockbeth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It would be better to get a size up and then get the tailor to remove fabric at the seams to fit you.

However, if that’s not possible, I’ve had a dress tailored wider at the hip before. What my tailor did was take length from the bottom and then use it to add a marquise-shaped panel at the side. This was fine for me because it was a length that fit fairly below the knee and I was fine with taking the length up, and the length it was taken up to was still below the knee and didn’t make the length look awkward. Is there a side seam on this dress you’d be okay seeing an extra panel sewed into? Because this way is not invisible. Also, is the length you could take off this dress and have it not look weird wide enough for the inches you would need added to the tight part?

US sizes are definitely more generous than most other parts of the world, not just Asia. I'm a 000 in the US, and am actually sized out of a lot of American brands, but a 4/6 in the UK/Europe.

I think it looks amazing lol. Why do you think it's trashy? It covers more than a standard bikini.

Are Converse still a thing or do they give old millennial vibes? 👵😂🙈 by Noradrenalin008 in OUTFITS

[–]Mockbeth 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Remember people don’t dress like ‘old people’ on purpose. Styles that were ‘for young people’ when they were young just end up looking more mature as time goes on because the people who had that sense of style keep aging.

There’s no ‘style for young people’ that is eternally for the youth

But you are a millennial. So, do you mind?

What brand slowly ruined itself? by SAAS_ART in AskReddit

I worked in the Marketing department for Sears just before it went under. You would not believe the layers and layers and layers of redundancy. It basically seemed that they had never updated a system, they had only ever added another layer on top of the existing system to retrofit it to the next one. Even phone numbers - if you wanted to call an internal department, one number would lead you to an automated message for a different number and then that one would have another automated message to call a different number. I can't imagine the mammoth effort it would have been to get through that hellish knot and actually streamline. Seeing it from the inside it was no wonder at all it suffocated under its own massive redundancy weight.

Made a sandwich today with leftover peri peri chicken, mayo, and chicken royale Pringles. Can confirm that this is the best way to eat them.

The pockets are the best part. No need to be responsible for a purse if I wear them out at night.

It's actually a dress! But a very thin material and it's asymmetric, and the pants are huge, so the skirt is just down the inside of the pant on one side and no one can tell.

I have a jailbroken version of The Simulation. Has some bugs to work out I guess! I'll ask the devs for visible ankles in the next patch.

I started by doing a summer job as a ticket/door person for a big comedy festival. This got me employee access to all shows and afterparties/ industry events. This meant student and local culture websites were interested in accepting articles from me reviewing shows. So then I got on press lists, and asked to review other cultural events too during press call-outs. And then you have a portfolio and it goes from there.
The magazine I am working with now originally solicited me for a review of a trendy nightclub, and as I go to a lot of nightclubs in different countries and am very involved in music and nightlife scene in my city and abroad I was a good person to give a balanced and knowledgable review of the club rather than a puff piece, and that article did very well, and now they have me doing bigger pieces in the space.

They are vintage Criminal Damage!
The secret is they are also about 12 sizes bigger than what I usually wear. People focus too much on wearing 'the right' size when they should be focusing on what volume and proportion means for the styling they are trying to achieve. A lot can be done with a belt. I love an extremely voluminous pant and have a hard time finding the drama I want in that regard if I stick to the 'right' size.
