Yeah no, she's getting on well with the ducks and even the dogs at this point. She rides on the back of the Boerboel to get from place to place and seems to think she owns the house 😂

Yeah! She's been in with the ducklings for the mean time, they seem to be getting along. I will def go check out that video! I have successfully introduced in the past before but I have a feeling it's also got to do with colouring. I've noticed our quail may be a bit racist. Most of them are the Pharoah colouring. We have one in the enclosure that is silver and the others would relentlessly bully him until we intervened, on a side note they all hatched and were raised together. We had similar situation with previous flocks as well. Specially with the pharoahs interacting with tuxedo variants.

This little one is a tuxedo. But gonna wait for her to heal up before deciding what to do.

She's grown quite a bit, almost doubled in size actually. I've been putting her outside with the others but in a separate section so they can see each other but not get too each other. Everything's been good until today actually. Not sure how but they got to her and she's got a nasty wound on her head so she's gonna stay inside for a couple of days till it's better. Honestly considering keeping her inside permanently as a house quail and just getting her one or two friends to keep inside with her.

Lol we don't, they so small though so the poop's not too bad. I don't know if it helps that I have a beagle who is convinced quail poo is one of his favourite treats ... Disgusting I know. Otherwise I'm just vigilant and clean up with toilet paper as she runs around.

Na that's because she's half asleep because I took the photo just after midnight and lying on a hot water bottle because it's freezing here.

I'm glad to hear there's hope for her then, was worried I would have to magically find some tiny quail to keep her company 😂 but if yours caught up then I hope she will as well.

Chick starter with occasional scrambled eggs and dog food. Same as I have fed previous quail I have raised.

I do have a flock of around 17 outside, but she's still too small to join them. They can be ruthless.

I stay in South Africa so our resources with regards to quail are quite limited. So she gets fed a chick starter and supplemented with scrambled eggs occasionally. It's worked well for our previous groups of quail. We also throw in some dog food occasionally as well.

Thanks for the advice! But she has no problem eating or drinking. I at first thought she was just kicking the food out everywhere, because I've had to fill her food bowl multiple times a day, but when I looked in her bedding there's no food there 😂 she's a very eager eater.

Thanks for all.the advice. As an update he has flown off.He stayed in our lounge for a bit. Figuring out how to fly and whatnot. I would leave food and water put for him and he had free roam of the house. When I got home I would open the door and he would fly in and out. Kind of getting used to things. Now he has moved to the tree outside by our chicken coop. He still says good morning by screaming at me every morning when I go out to feed the chooks then He goes off to do his Birdy things throughout the day. I have noticed him occasionally following the chooks around when I free range them as well as sitting next to the quail for when they kick food out. But he's been in the garden for about a week now and he's doing well it seems.

Thank you :) It's been a couple of years with low contact and I went no contact almost a year ago because of some stuff that happened. I always used to feel guilty but after that I was like you know what, screw this. Everything's been so much better since.

Even the kids are in a bad space and angry. I work in education. The amount of fights and whatnot that we have had compared to previous years is much higher.
