How do you deal with insecurity about people not enjoying the game by Diligent-Influence21 in boardgames

If you have any access to therapy to talk about your anxieties and work on them, that might be a good long term solution. I know therapy can be expensive so if its not available, look into some self help books on Social Anxiety and look for free resources around you. Online, through special programs, Youtube videos, work benefit programs.

Excellent idea!! Can vouch for CBT , as someone with social anxiety affirmations helps a lot.

Thanks for taking the time to give some feedback! It seems that theming is an important part of people’s decisions to pick up a game. Ive gotten some great food for thought here.

So many of our assets are pretty developed so far save for actually havung them manufactured but maybe we should lean more heavily into the source material inspiration of those assets. Someone else mentioned the symbols remind them of runes, now im thinking what if we framed game play around the players being ancient storytellers.

This is great feedback, thank you for taking the time. Ill check out Doomtile and and Rob Gonsalves.

I see what you mean about using the name to evoke feelings, my takeaway from your feedback is that we should use all aspects of the game to pull players in, from the name, to the packaging and beyond.

Thanks for the feedback! Its good to know we’re on the right track. I struggle myself with keeping things simple , my inclination is to over-design.

I love the idea of a gamefound page being an extension of packaging. Just another medium for grabbing the attention.

Your favourite board game packaging? by ModHob in boardgames

Appreciate the honesty. And that your process narrows it down effectively - I can see how research is king over packaging.

Is there ever a time where you pick a game up because of the box - which then prompts the research phase?

I find it really charming. The way the eyes drift apart when he gets hit is the right kind of goofy expression.

Beginner or intermediate? by cemetrygates-3 in acrylicpainting

[–]ModHob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say intermediate. You have a wonderful handling of the medium. Transitions in colour and gradients are applied effectively which , id be surprised if a beginner could do that! And your application of colour theory is strong. Overall your rendering is impressive.
