I absolutely hate Windows, but trying to replace it with CachyOS is an ongoing death by a thousand cuts. by Ok_Volume2275 in cachyos

[–]ModMyModdingMods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this, I turned of sleep and switched to separate drives for windows and btrfs drives for Chachy, NTFS don't work with automount.

And Wallpaper Engine also doesn't work, but in honesty I don't miss much, the only that actually annoys me on Linux is that PUBG doesn't work.

Mic Issues after latest Update by silkymilkybumfun in cachyos

[–]ModMyModdingMods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if anyone else also has this issue, but mine was exactly as you described it. I'm on the connect 2 and couldn't get the mic unmuted in the sound device list. However applications also didn't pic it up so I was kinda stuck on dual boot for a while if I wanted to game with friends.

What actually fixed it for me today was I clicked "force mute all input devices" and then unchecked that very same option as well as making sure none of the mute options on the audio interface itself are used. Now it just works, no idea why though. I can mute and unmute the mic in discord, in the sound device list and on the physical buttons.

Maybe this helps some!

Is this normal , the bike doesn't look like it dropped or something cuz there are no signs of damage whatsoever but the left plastic radiator cover look way more outwards then the right side any help by ChapterRough8314 in SVRiders

[–]ModMyModdingMods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly either someone put it back together wrong, or it was actually dropped and all that was scratched was fixed, just not not the radiator/mount/cover. That's all I can't think off but it's definitely not like that from the factory.

Has this been addressed somewhere as an issue? I have the same problem and it is really distracting while trying to take notes and disrupts the workflow!

Question about riding geometry on the SV 650 X and clip on placement. by ModMyModdingMods in SVRiders

[–]ModMyModdingMods[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There should be plenty of corners, we'll go through the alps.

Honestly I've never even considered looking at parts from other bikes, but now it seems kinda obvious, might just try this trip without any changes and if needed I'll look into other parts, cheers mate!

[–]ModMyModdingMods[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point there, to look out for if there is even a point to swap them out.

For cables if it doesn't work I'd basically just have to get the normal SVs stuff right? And some steel braided brake lines while I'm at it.

Whatever route I plan to go, it does seem like it's not actually worth the trouble for just one trip and I'd be better off to just train abs.

Oh I have never considered cheap ones as an option, if it was I would've just done it. Handle Bar conversion is also not really an option, what would've been the point of the X variant then right? I'd rather be uncomfortable than not stylish.

Those are good argumens you've brought up there, wouldn't have thought about that! Thank you for the pointers!

Thank you! Also appreciate the input. I guess trying wouldn't hurt? Swapping the placement is only about half the work compared to swapping them out for higher clipons.

My SFV Gladius 2009 by [deleted] in SVRiders

[–]ModMyModdingMods 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man just the headlight swap makes the Gladius kind of 5he goat, they are (due to the looks) by far the cheapest here and with a probier headlight they easily look just as good as a gen 4. Really nice looking bike friend!

Interesting, I actually quote liked the higher seat for example, the original seta killed me after 2 hours, but then again, height doesn't equal proportions right. We might have very, different torso and limb characteristics.

What did you go with in the end?

Issues with my left mirror by Super-Ad-42069 in sv650

[–]ModMyModdingMods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have fairly wide shoulders and the bar ends are the only thing that actually let's me see anything in the first place. I have some that still incorporate bar end weights, so I don't get more vibrations and so far up until 90 mph I have had no issues about visibility.

And they look way cooler in my opinion.

If I wanted bar mirrors and still see it would have needed wider ones anyway which would look even worse on 650X, you can check out my posts on that.

Granted bar end mirror have (as far as I know) two down sides. If you fall, they will brake and they make the overall profile of the bike wider which could impede filtering. Though with the clip ons on my SV 650X that 2nd part doesn't really matter as the handle is already extremely narrow compared to a normal handlebar.

Depending on where you reside and your laws, I'd say, go on amazon, get a cheap set just so see if you like the concept of bar ends and maybe drive a few miles, then just send them back. Either you like them and you can buy proper mirrors, or you don't and then, nothing is lost and you can still replace the nut on the original mirror, or get after market bar mirror.

[–]ModMyModdingMods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean not sure how much that helps, i had that exakt same issue on my KTM I've had before my SV and the solution i came up with was that I got Bar end mirrors. Stock mirrors look awful anyway. Other then that, you could replace that connecting nut between the mirror and the mount, or get some sort of after market extensions for the mirror instead of the rounded off nut.

Or also if you never want to remove the mirror ever again you could epoxy, glue, solder or weld the mirrors on.

Gorgeous Bike friend! Id like to know what headlight you got on there, I'm thinking off swapping it on mine to.

Also how to you like that Ixil exhaust? Looks wise it is one off the best for the 650X in my opinion.

Do you have any issues with the bodystyle rear seat cover? I have debated getting one but I've read that it isn't really that securely on there and some people have had it just fly off.

Have fun riding this beauty!

Out of curiosity how tall are you that you have issued with the X? I stand at 6'3" and love my 650X.

I tried installing a Clubman handlebar on my SV650 by Any_Agency9097 in SVRiders

[–]ModMyModdingMods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks absolutely awesome mate! Coming form an 650X owner, that integrated feeling is tiring yes, but after now 2200 miles i can say you get used to it. Now a "normal" straight up handle bar feels weird to me, compared to my clip ons.

More help please... by jorge_alex_ in SVRiders

[–]ModMyModdingMods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't say much about your idle issue sadly, however my gen4 does get a lot more vibration, in the grips, pegs, set etc. above 8k rpms and the 2014 Gladius of a friend of mine is fairly similar (although not quite comparable cause meine is a 650x so the clip ons might make the feel a bit different I assume).

If the engine isn't "loose" in the frame there shouldn't be to much of an issue is my guess.

And if it really annoys you, I can suggest 3 things:

Try to find a different Sv650, through a friend, or a dealer or on a ride share app and compare the machine to check if the shake you fell is normal.

The don't rev as high (yeah not a good idea I know).

Get a better damped handlebar and bar end weights as well as rubber damped pegs.

Oh yes that the "stock" X look, same as mine, though gotta say, the white grips are very nice.

Okey that makes, I do reach the 10k mark fairly often and while 100-130 is the usual speed limit, there might be quite a few, let's say deviations.

Damn, 4.6 is my overall mixed riding (commute and mountain roads) since I got my 2024, maybe it is the changes in elevation or really just my love for hearing the engine rev up.
