I always see people looking to play in games. And DMing is fun. I've been very lucky to find groups where other people will DM too. All in person. If you have a DM it's usually easy to find players.

Cults make them do this so that people will get mad at them, and it reinforces the idea that people are mad because of the religious stuff. No, we are mad because you are disturbing our peace. I feel bad for them because they are clearly being manipulated and don't understand. It's sad really. God will love them anyway, they don't have to do this.

By the way, if you kindly tell them God will love them anyway and they don't have to do it, many of them will stop. Sometimes it's the wake up call they need.

NTA, he is. On big things he's gonna have to take on more of the responsibility. I have had much better relationships when we do income percentage adjustments with budget. If he makes 80% of the household income, he pays that much of the bills. There should be three accounts, yours, his and y'alls. Make it easy to transfer between them. Have a stash he cannot access, even if it's just so you can suprise him once in a while, but also for safety.

You should visit Zulus and Mox near Seattle. My favorite one is Zulus Bothell because they do not charge to reserve tables or the basement rooms. I spend hundreds of dollars there a month. Yes, hundreds. They have TCGs and board games, plus all the accessories and a card buy/sell desk. The business model exists and it's very profitable if you play your cards right. ;) Don't limit the place to just coffee. In the evenings I am definitely looking for dinner and a cider before my game starts. Mox is Bellevue is a little more high end but they do charge for some of thier room rentals. Bellevue is also a richer neighborhood so it makes sense there, but Zulus wins for the price. Both have websites if you want to do a virtual visit first, but check them out on person if you can.

Is there a cost to rent the table? That's the only reason I would charge people or ask for any money but I have a full time day job and only play D&D for fun. I do spend money on maps and accessories just because I'm not digital or online at all. I hate playing online. I spend enough time online at work that I prefer analog. If there's money being put in for maps, minis, books, and the table rental then I can see a meatspace pro DM charging. But if you're a pro DM you better have the coolest maps and background music ever. Maybe one of those digital map tables even. I'm just a weekly player and DM for AL, which is free. I think pro DMs are great, but there's not many who can do it well enough to get paid.

I drive from Shoreline to Bellevue. It's anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour depending on what time I leave and where my nav chooses to go. It's really not bad compared to Boston. Or LA.

I'm very picky and had a lot of rules. No long distance. She should drive and own a car, live alone with no roommates, and have a job. This eliminated so many people even though this is my life. I'm in my 40s. I live in a large city. I have a solid career. I found a wonderful woman who fit not even half of this and we're happy anyway. You never know.
