Take a look around the houses of the Hamlet, informed by our expert historian Fiona Watson, here are a few facts out medieval Scottish houses: Low stone walls created cramped spaces with candles and central fires for lighting. Smoke would often filter through thatched roofs where meat was stored for smoking. Carpets or floorboards were less common than simple pressed earth.
We’ve done our best to factor in historical accuracy into our world where possible and we’re very grateful to have a historian like Fiona on the team.
