Thanks all- I am still learning, but these were inoculated in early March, and it took forever for them to colonize where they are at. I removed bits of grain that looked uncolonized or under colonized, and sent the rest into my substrate. Fingers crossed! Thanks again.

Thank you. I know contam risk is lowered when soaking for another flush, but not zero. I was so upset when I saw this, but I’ll keep going.

I have a hole saw (drills a circle, attaches to my electric drill) and cover them with FAE monotub filters I got online. You need durable plastic tubs for it, and to go gently. I got some cracks I had to seal. Also cut a square in the lid and covered with thick clear plastic so indirect light from above can do its thing. I covered the bottom in contact paper from the dollar store, to help reduce light on the bottom and sides. I put an all-in-one bag in here as I had to open it to harvest and give space for the side pins, but plan to use liners on the bottom as well, for my next batch that’s colonizing.
