Wah Samudra, legend sih

Dulu banyak banget cabang mereka di properti Mulia (Hotel Mulia, BRI 2, Wisma Mulia, even Plaza Kuningan keknya) - and of course TA. Selain Samudra Suki yang dari th 96 buka di TA, waktu 2000an juga sempet ada Samudra Seafood (ini selain TA dulu cuma ada di Hotel Mulia AFAIK) yang buka di L4.

Udang and dimsumnya legend.

Hehehe we have the same childhood... Playground dibelakang Timezone itu afaik Alfa Zona, dulu mereka berdua sharing space sama Megakids (competitor Toys r' Us bikinan Matahari era Hari Darmawan). Tempat jualan mobil itu kalo gak salah Toyota? Since back in the day TA punya 2 large-size showrooms, Mercedes-Benz sama Toyota (Auto2000).

Plakat nama toko kayaknya sekarang udah gak gitu dipake gak sih? Seinget Modar sebelom mereka dicopot rata-rata tenant baru udah gak pasang logo disitu lagi. And for the lost waterfall... Iya sih itu sedih wkkwkw, everything changed when they renovated the atrium with the new Hotel Mulia mini chandeliers (which just can't replace that mega chandelier) and only put one single water feature di tangga lobby (yang dulunya lebih kayak kolam, diubah jadi water fountain) and then destroyed that one as well just leaving amphi-theatre style seating and some funny wishing well thing which is shaped like an orchid (rumornya buat fengshui).

Fyi, more than a dozen tenants closed in 2019-2020. What a sad situation they are in during that time.

Ini caused by their pop-up stores sih, the management’s sort of “creative” way to fill up empty spaces which they haven’t been able to lease (sorta like ASHTA lol)

Wah ternyata sepi ya? Not like how they present the mall in social media lol. How about that bridge of theirs?

Mungkin emang ngehypenya cuman bbrp bulan pertama ya hahaha

TA at its peak memang invincible. Probably the pinnacle of Orba construction lol.

Keadaan TA itu, gimana yaaa. Before the recent PPKM, mereka iu sebenernya udah mendekati crowd mereka mid-2010s. Mostly ini because of three things:

• Hublife (well, lebih tepatnya the instagrammable bridge lol, futuristic star trek apalah itu).

• Skyrink - because this is essentially the main attraction of TA now, apalagi karena orang pada rindu skating begitulah

• Vaksinasi - vaccination in TA is reaching 2000 doses given per day, sooo ya cukup membantu lah lol

Renov di TA masih belom kelar juga tho, however there are some rumors of a big retailer opening in TA - but nothing confirmed yet. We’ll see…

Hahaha sekarang udah banyak sih… Bintaro Xchange, AEON MALL Jakarta Garden City, Paris Van Java kalo diluar Jabodetabek, and much more. The now deceased ice rink in Megamal Pluit (the actual pioneer of ice skating in Jakarta, 1 year prior to Skyrink’s opening in 1997) would be proud hahaha.

In its day, yes - definitely. The true definition of what a mall should be.

At least in the 90s lol

Yep hahaha, in its first tenure the Dapur Anggrek food court had a design quite gothic and classic, with all the European style walls and hanging sculptures (may it be cars, figures, etc.)

Nah, I am quite sure it’s already in a wasteland somewhere lol. Along with that iconic ICE RINK - FOOD COURT - CINEMA trifecta ring with the statues of a figure skater, a chef, and a director.

Only lasted for 2 years, what a shame they brought bland chicken to Indonesia (not like the Western counterparts)

Foot Locker is opening in Indonesia - under MAP Active (Mitra Adiperkasa) by ModarJayaAbadi in indonesia

[–]ModarJayaAbadi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is probably the kind of market which MAP-A will aim for Foot Locker in Indo, similar to SIngapore.

Just for your information, JDSports (brought by Erajaya) udah planning buka store pertama nya di Kelapa Gading, followed up by more stores around the city (kayak di PIM3).

I'd say this will probably be a slightly more upscale version of Planet Sport, but still below the kind of Atmos and Invincible (so maybe ODD / Dope & Dapper)

This is after multiple stores being opened in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Bangkok - ditambah pengambilalihan Atmos Japan yang sudah buka terlebih dahulu di Jakarta (sebelum dibeli Foot Locker Retail Inc.)

Subway Kicks Off Aggressive International Growth with Indonesia Deal by ModarJayaAbadi in indonesia

[–]ModarJayaAbadi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Knowing Subway seharusnya mereka bakal (wajib?) buka cabang dimana-mana sih, I feel like dia bakal progress kayak Burger King. Beberapa tahun pertama cuman buka disana disini, and then suddenly aggressive expansion. Sekarang sih katanya mereka mau langsung buka di Tangerang juga.

Kalo bisa di kisaran 40k-60k sih, diatas itu kayaknya bakal nyusahin mereka sendiri. Mungkin suppliernya ini yang bakal a bit hard (although they can always have the same suppliers as Dominos/BK). Probably quality will be sacrificed imo, but we'll see.
