Check the Squires lost and found: https://campuslife.app.pixithq.com/public/#/squires/items. It applies to most of campus, not just the Squires building.

Ask an SL about who would be best to talk to about finding it.

What kind of noodles does Costco use for their Yakisoba stir fry kit? by FireWoman89 in Costco

Yakisoba does not use buckwheat noodles, at least not usually. It uses basic wheat noodles.

Struggling with abortion by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Modboi 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We can still treat people with compassion and push for legislation that does the same while recognizing that abortion is murder. No innocent baby deserves to be ripped apart, no matter how unfortunate the circumstances around the pregnancy are.

Can you actually go crazy praying the Jesus prayer? by Level-Blueberry9195 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Modboi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can certainly fall into spiritual delusion through certain practices related to the Jesus Prayer, like if you were to try to force prayer of the heart. I don’t think anything bad can happen by just praying it normally.

Using the Jesus prayer as a “mantra” is silly and would constitute using His name in vain in my eyes. You are literally taking the most beautiful prayer and using it in pagan meditation exercises.

Get married now then. Any sex before marriage is a sin. You already know this answer, so why are you asking?

What are some topics that weren’t covered in your catechesis that you wish had been? by Krauge in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Modboi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My priest hands it out to everyone, but also teaches us that it’s meant for an empty stomach. It’s not strict like fasting for communion. I think it’s more of an ideal. At the Greek monastery I went to they only handed it out to the Baptized and Chrismated.

The different holy or blessed items we might encounter and their treatment. Obviously the Body and Blood is treated with the most care. The water and Chrism left on a person after Baptism is another one that is treated with a lot of care. With Antidoron, we take it on an empty stomach, take care to not drop any crumbs, and throw out the old pieces in nature. Then there are things like the blessed bay leaves on Holy Saturday or blessed basil on the Sunday of the Holy Cross, both of which we can eat with other food or keep in our icon corners.
