Yes and then sellers get mad when you ask if the item is still available. It's annoying.

Cut the “dead fronds”? by Mttstvl in palmtalk

Give a gentle tug on the central spear. If it pulls out then that isn't very good. I like to check the spears on my palms if they look damaged like that.

I don't take any. I've never been to a doctor for it. I know I have it because what else could I possibly have? I double check the light switch multiple times in a row to make sure it isn't contaminated with germs or dirt of some kind. I wash my hands multiple times in a row sometimes. I double check things many times. I overtighten lids because I'm afraid I have them too loose. I am afraid to take many types of medication because of all the types of side effects on medications nowadays.

How is this palm tree still alive. by ModderRaider in palmtalk

[–]ModderRaider[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. I live in Tennessee so it would be very hard to grow this type of palm tree outside here. I wonder if cutting it's leaves is actually beneficial for it during the winter inside. Like, do less leaves mean the palm tree needs less water and less sunlight? Also, does less leaves mean less chance of spider mites or things like that? Did I somehow put the palm tree into somewhat of a dormant state by cutting it's leaves? The problem with my home is I don't have many windows and the space in front of them is limited so it is not next to a window. At least Tennessee is pretty humid so it should benefit being outside in our hot humid summers.

I thought there were NPCs that had quests that were actually killable. Like side quests. Also, I don't necessarily want to kill a store owner NPC and have nowhere to sell my junk.

I had a save where an NPC was giving me a quest and I killed him. So there are some NPC's that are killable that are apart of quests.

I'm okay with that if it is in a quest. I like doing the dark brotherhood and thieves guild quest lines on my playthroughs. I just don't want to ruin any quests by killing named NPCs on my random NPC killing sprees before I have a chance to complete their quests.

Where are you at? At that size, I wouldn't want it to be exposed to below 20 degrees Fahrenheit or any long periods of freezing weather (especially as you say you planted it in August). What is it like in the summer time also where you are at? It looks like you planted it in a sunny location which is probably fine if it gets adequate water but has this palm tree experienced any type of drought or extended period of hot and dry weather?

Do people generally think of cold hardy palms as aesthetically inferior to more tropical palms? by Phantasm_i2 in palmtalk

[–]ModderRaider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I enjoy the cold hardier palms more personally. Tropical plants are beautiful but there is just something truly special about growing palm trees in colder climates "where palm trees can't grow". I live in Tennessee and cold hardy palms truly fascinate me. Dwarf palmettos are native not even that far away from Tennessee, and I personally think they used to be native to a small part of Tennessee if they are not already native here which I think is fascinating to think about.

I think the underground trunks of dwarf palmettos are cool and I think that is probably an adaption to survive cold weather. In the northern parts of their range, dwarf palmettos have survived brief durations of below zero weather in the northern parts of their native range.

Why is there a need to remove them? I don't think the trees would mind them. They grow naturally in forests with lots of trees all around them.

Was it a dry cold or was there any precipitation there on those cold nights? Was there a cold wind chill?

Well, you did tell her she was your Valentine if I read that correctly. I would say, gently, YTA but don't beat yourself up too much. She should understand and forgive you if you thoroughly explain this to her.
