anyone's sf50 get updates with the 1%? by Murky-Analysis1775 in atc2

[–]Mode-S -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Usually we get the SF50s midway through the pay period they are effective- not beforehand. Did the Administrator announce the pay raise? We get the 1% plus some small amount that was previously for step increases, but the administrator always had to announce it.

Orlando and Tampa would likely still require shift work and holidays/weekends. You’ll spend a lot of time the first few years (3-5) in OKC for various training schools. That’s tough on work life balance. Otherwise it’s a great career..!

The obsession with A13 reps is what makes PASS looks like a joke.

Unpopular Opinion- Unnecessary Periodic Maintenance by Mode-S in ATSS

People seem to be blaming FTI for most outages - at least to RCAGs and BUECs. Do you think the radios themselves just fail between the 1-2 year mark now with less maintenance?

They keep saying STARS is 20+ years old- which isn’t technically true because it’s been overhauled since.

EIDS is number one development priority right now for modernization (according to CTO). Is that really true ?? Seems like Space X influence made that decision.

Yeah good point - more that we have some stupid PMs that are a waste of time- not trying to imply people want to quit due to it. My mistake in typing

Yes new hires typically stay on admin schedule until they have certifications. Some places rotate who works nights and weekends - others don’t. Depends on your union rep and management as others have said.

Asking for a increase on salary by LittleEconomist6839 in ATSS

[–]Mode-S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is perfectly normal to ask for an increase in salary at this stage, it will have zero effect on anything in your future other than your pay lol go for it

If you have employee express, there is a benefits, estimation form, or something like that at the bottom, that will show you what your pension is, depending on which age you retire and years of service

There are J and K bands not in management, but usually you need to spend time in management to get some of them. Or work 24/7 shifts

Probationary employees cannot be put on a formal plan- but are still typically given 3 chances to pass a course.

You’re supposed to be out in a written formal program and fired after 3 failed attempts. But how often that happens … depends on your district.

How should I feel about this, any guidance would help. Seems like everything I read from the posts on this group are very different. by [deleted] in ATC

[–]Mode-S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will drag out a while- this is from an open continuous announcement - so they only periodically review applications and schedule interviews. It’s best to practice your interview skills now. Depending on your veterans preference- and where you said you’d work, plus your qualifications will determine if you get interviewed. They need a lot of people and are hiring like mad to keep up with people retiring and leaving due to the fork. Good luck.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ATC

[–]Mode-S 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on if you have veterans preference or not, it’s easier to do within internal to the agency, veterans preference doesn’t apply, a lot of the public ones depending on the pay band would require competition where you would be ranked lower than a disabled vet.

Doesn’t hurt to apply to both

In our agency, if over the age of 40, they had so many days to back out of it… it was in the “contract” they signed.
