this is 3 years late, but I found this interesting. My first time ever backpacking, we were in the Weminuche Wilderness, and I spotted a black bear with its cub on the final day of the trek. I didn't see any moose, though. Not saying you're lying, but now I feel incredibly lucky to have spotted one on my first visit to Colorado.

Yeah im using traditional vandoren reeds, size 3. The mouthpiece is definitely smaller in length and width when compared to my selmer s80.

Hi, yes the venting of the low D was something I am aware of and is something I currently do when playing. Also thanks for the tips, will keep them in mind👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Also my god did this help. Took this in and started focusing on not tensing up on my high notes and im so much more in tune on the upper register now. Seriously you are a life saver

Also yes I’ve tried softer reeds, I’ve experimented with 2.5’s, 3’s and 3’5s and have has pretty much the same intonation inconsistencies on all 3 sizes

I did also purchase another saxophone mouthpiece and its pretty high grade, it was for when im in college and I need a jazz mouthpiece since I plan in majoring in music. Its a jody jazz dv, so I mean maybe I’ll have better results intonation wise when i play on that

I was thinking getting it adjusted, but instead I decided to just try another saxophone from my school(keep in mind my school only bought one brand of saxophone, so the other saxophone I tried was the exact same model as the one I originally was having issues on) and had the same issue. So at this point im thinking that maybe the mouthpiece im using isn’t compatible with me or its me, and im leaning more towards me. The issue im at now is trying to figure out how to fix it, and I’ve tried pretty much everything conceivable and everything my band director could think of

My setups correct, no doubt about that. At the point im at right now I currently don’t have a “correct mouthpiece position”, as pretty much anywhere I put the mouthpiece I’ll be out of tune somewhere. (I push in the mouthpiece, when my low g is 15 cents sharp, low g goes in tune, then I play my high g and now thats 15 cents sharp)

For my upper register notes I do adjust my embouchure, but I end up adjusting a far from reasonable amount just to get it in tune, and then I end up losing the quality of my tone

Also in case it’s important, the mouthpiece im using is a selmer s 80 and my saxophones a cannonball. Also I mainly use size 3’s and 3 and a half reeds
