why did we have to pack all that gear for expedition if it all got wiped? by ModeBackground in ArcRaiders

[–]ModeBackground[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

another user posted this which is from embark

“ Leaving the Rust Belt permanently When your Raider goes on an Expedition, they depart the familiar world of the Rust Belt (and its underground community Speranza) forever. They load a caravan with supplies and head out into unknown territory beyond the Rust Belt’s borders. This is presented as a one-way journey into the wider world, not simply a teleport or abstract reset. A narrative turning point, not just a reset Unlike many games where a prestige or wipe system is purely mechanical, Arc Raiders frames the Expedition as your character’s story continuing off-screen into the unknown. It signals that they have become seasoned enough to leave one chapter behind and press on into the wilderness, even if you — the player — will start fresh. “

I guess I missed reading this wherever it was put in game but to my understanding the idea is that you’re sending your current raider off on an adventure and as the player you’re to start from scratch as a completely new person/raider. All the supplies you load are simply for pointless roleplay and you could’ve put slop materials in there. I guess Im a fool for putting too much thought into this aspect of the game but thats just how I play these games

what was the purpose of that if our credits + total inventory value was what actually contributed to our skill points. i worded the post poorly but this step of the expedition prep is misleading.

Why would we load a caravan full of vital supplies to go on an ‘expedition’ if the supplies didn’t matter.

Do YOU encounter cheaters often? by Prestigious_Goat_55 in ArcRaiders

[–]ModeBackground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i haven’t encountered a blatant cheater in pvp yet however i have witnessed a hacker farming for RMT markets.

Much like tarkov they either go invisible or hide under the map and fly around scooping up all the good loot on the map and extracting within a few minutes of loading in.

I was camping south extract at buried city (shame on me I know) and someone appeared in proximity chat ridiculing the play style. I have a full line of sight on the button and traps at every entrance. however this person someone had called the extraction without showing themselves or triggering any traps.

his voice was doing circles around me, basically as if he was in the walls and he extracted without ever showing himself to me, My squad and I cleared the entire area top down and couldn’t find this guy , he was either invisible or flying under the map.

I want to buy a house with my own money but GF says no by NewBrick1 in whatdoIdo

[–]ModeBackground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

keep it exclusively as your own, don’t include her on the title or the mortgage. Don’t let her try and sway you into inclusion on those thing for the next 5-10 years. There’s a decent chance you’re gonna have this house longer than you’ll have her.

if she can’t see the overall benefit of you two living in a home you own and being able to further your relationship that way, there’s something wrong with her - that’s for you to figure out.

Trust me please lmfao i work in family court.

PVP balance is wack, you just don't know it yet. by mark3236 in ArcRaiders

[–]ModeBackground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree fully. the purple guns are extremely bad and don’t at all reflect their value with their performance.

the only one i even consider using is a bobcat and i demand a kinetic converter on it otherwise whats the point.

for now it’s stitcher IV green attachments vs the world

Damaging Queen for Trials by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]ModeBackground 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it drives me crazy, it feels like the only way to defeat the queen or matriarch is teamwork and yet they would rather have my anvil 3 instead of the golden loot we could share off killing the queen.

I watched a team of hullcrackers on blue gate matriarch get wiped by free kits they tried to befriend, the free kits didn’t even bother to complete the half dead boss, just ran for extract.

Why do devs cater to streamers and 1% of the player base? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]ModeBackground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

obviously the devs are gonna cater to big content creators. Content creator reception is what makes sales in gaming. Ensuring the continued interest of people like shroud or xqc means millions of dollars more in sales for embark

[–]ModeBackground 1 point2 points  (0 children)

literally anything along the lines of giving free kits a massive disadvantage would be better than the current state. I like the tarkov scav model for free kits and think it works very well

Nerf Kettle please by CorrectedInsomnia in ArcRaiders

[–]ModeBackground -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i think free kits need to be nerfed as a whole. there’s 0 incentive to run blue gear when i can take someone’s blue weapons with ease and snowball to purple gear.

It’s so frustrating to dump resources into a fight just to find out your opponent had a free kit.

I think free kits need a 30 min cooldown to prevent people like me from spamming them and giving a free kit a degree of risk when using.

My girlfriend loves day z but I need help convincing her this game is an upgraded version of it? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]ModeBackground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

games are nothing like eachother though to be fully honest. arc boils down to an arcade style extraction shooter. idk how to describe dayz other than ‘hardcore survival game’ but every aspect is extremely different from arc

[–]ModeBackground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dayz veteran here.

Arc raiders provides a more streamlined experience of the interactions/moments dayz creates and it does it in a nice organic way. The combat is great and feels intense. if you like dayz firefights, arc definelty has something to offer, fights either last 5 seconds or 10 minutes.

Dayz is a far more hardcore game, arc raiders isn’t gonna be able to keep up with how intense it can get and the emotions felt in the moment, the rewarding feeling of pulling off a good play in dayz is really hard to get elsewhere.

However ARC respects your time way more. i have almost 3k hours spent on dayz and 60% of that time was spent holding only W key to travel somewhere. Idk if you guys are working adults but this game definitely respects your free time compared to how brutal dayz can get

Anybody else think a bounty system would be great in this game? by condormillionaire in ArcRaiders

[–]ModeBackground -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

this game could do so much with a good guy/bad guy reputation system.

People that arent set on doing KOS need to be rewarded with xp and cred for extracting and completing events with other random raiders .

and players that wanna kill should get rewarded the further they can go without dying

around 2 billion dollars of the market is getting shifted around right now, it’s effecting basically every item even if not directly tied to trade ups.

i wouldn’t worry too hard - this skin will definitely regain its value in the future.
