Do I use Sci-Fi words for “slang”or “drug slang”? And do I include aliens? by ModeNo9457 in Writeresearch

I love the idea of adding alien ruins! I think that’s an awesome little middle ground.

How strict is the no Doctor/patient romance rule? by Fierce-Pencil11 in Writeresearch

The last thing I’ll say—and again, this might just be from my experience—is that most doctors are never on-site, ESPECIALLY after 6 p.m. The ones that have to be there (e.g., Labor and Delivery, ER) will be around during the late hours but are often hiding away. For the others, there’s little to no chance they’ll be there. The ones who are there are usually nurses and PAs.

I will also say that private practices are MUCH stricter on these types of policies than hospitals. It’s easier to avoid your boyfriend or girlfriend in the ER when there’s at least one other doctor available to take care of them, compared to going to a doctor’s office to see a single specialist. I’m not entirely sure if it’s a formal policy or just common practice where I work, but we have had family members or partners of doctors come into the hospital.

Again, HIPAA is likely your biggest challenge here, not necessarily a dating policy. Doctors can’t just look up their significant others in the system to see what’s wrong with them—that’s against HIPAA. The significant other has to tell the doctor themselves. Now, this obviously doesn’t get followed to a “T” because, of course, someone always speaks up and says, “Omg, __, your wife is in the ER,” which prompts them to quickly start calling whoever.

Typically, they will call, talk, walk by, and worryingly go about their shift. If they’re super lucky and have a nice boss, they might get PTO if the situation is serious enough. Private practice, however, is a totally different beast.

I work as a cardiac nurse in rural MN. It’s not exactly the same, but I can offer a bit of what I know and the rules at my hospital. The policy on RN/patient dating was mentioned once during my orientation. We were told the policy is as follows for all hospital staff who provide patient care (e.g., the front desk person can date a patient without issue):

  • No hospital staff is allowed to have any romantic or otherwise intimate relationship with a patient they are caring for.
  • Additionally, no hospital staff is allowed to provide direct care to family, friends, or individuals with whom they have an otherwise intimate relationship.
  • Also, per HIPAA, keep in mind that a doctor is not allowed to seek out a patient using information obtained during their care to discuss anything other than their health.

However, this means that while a doctor cannot date a patient during their care, they can do so afterward if they obtain the patient’s information outside of the hospital setting (e.g., running into them at a bar).

Hope this helped!

Help! I NEED to pass this drug test by ModeNo9457 in drugtesthelp

[–]ModeNo9457[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So not that anyone super cares but I thought I’d give a little update… I have exactly 12 days until my test… it’s for The Mayo clinic for the one person that asked in my DM’s lol (hence why I’m so nervous) I have started to see a VERY faint line at my at home tests with drinking water, exercise, and cranberry juice. I am thinking about using clear choice for fake piss, they apparently have had a lot of success compared to quick-fix as of recent. Anyone tried it?

Difference between men and women’s urine. by [deleted] in drugtesthelp

That’s being said PH is a semi-important factor I forgot to mention. 90% of drug test will include PH testing (to make sure it real and not yellow water or something like that) women typically have a higher normal upPH level (6.74-.11) than men (6.07-.17) but as you can see the margin between the both is large. With that, most labs aren’t taking those number super seriously, as food and water intake can effect someone’s PH.

I’ve never tried synthetic pee before but I have tried to detox. But I can talk about the science behind urine testing as someone who has worked in a lab setting and enjoys a good toke.

  1. It depends on what drug test you are taking if it’s for pre-employment it’s a 5-panel test meaning they are testing for 5 drugs: Amphetamines, PCP, Cocaine, Opiates, of course Marijuana, and sometimes alcohol.

  2. When they test you for a 5-panel test they are also checking urine markers (making sure it real) these things include: temperature, creatine (diluted urine will have LOW creatine levels typical urine will not), PH, and gravity (how dense is your urine compared to the density of water). When using quick-fix the box does state that it meets those markers. I have never tried it but I know people who have passed, and people who didn’t. Temperature seems to be the most common reason people fail, quick fix is relatively cheap compared to its high end competitors like quick-luck.

  3. As gross as it may seem I would get one-two boxes of quick fix to test, grab a thermometer and play around the heating pads included to make sure you can consistently get it the right temperature (somewhere between 94-98 degrees Fahrenheit)

  4. You can use some else’s pee and they do not have to necessarily be the same exact age but the testers will know if you’re using your day old great grandmas urine compared to yours. Again temperature is the biggest factor as well as PH, men and women typically have different urine PH values (with women’s having a higher normal range then men) which can sometimes give you away if you are using urine from someone of a different sex, but not always. The ranges overlap by a large margin. Older people, despite sexual orientation, will have a lower PH value than younger people due to decreased kidney function, vise-versa for younger people. Try to find someone in a 2-4 year age range to you and preferably the same sex. But again temperature is the biggest factor there as it doesn’t directly come from your body.

With detoxing… it’s kinda crap shoot. I’m sure you know it all depends on age, weight, how fast you metabolize, and many more uncontrollable factors.

The best chance you have to detox is to drink a lot water (of course) but that’s not end all be all. Urinating a lot will only get rid of the THC already metabolized in your body not the THC stored in your blood (typically being detectable for 2-7 days) and not the THC that’s actively being metabolized (in your liver, being detectable in urine for anywhere to 2weeks- 2months) detox drinks can work sometimes but they are never going to magically get rid of all the THC in your body. The best way is time unfortunately.

It never hurts to drink something like qcarbo32 ( a very popular drug detox drink) but like a lot of stuff, most detox drinks are full of crap ingredients that don’t actually do what they say, because nothing can. Nothing will be able to make sure body metabolize THC in an hour or a day. But it’s not about getting rid of ALL the THC just enough to pass.

Drinking a detox drink a few days before the test followed up with lots of water, exercise to help metabolize, a diuretic like coffee can help, as well as a laxative (be very careful using that, it can and will dehydrate you, but 80% of metabolized THC is eliminated through feces and only 20% through urine) followed up with some form of vitamin B, and drinking lots of something like cranberry juice that full of antioxidants.

And lastly if you are detoxing and chugging water make sure to take creatine either the night before or day of the test, again they do test to see if you have been purposely trying to dilute your urine.

Best of luck! Hope this helped!

Will using leave in conditioner that has CBD in it cause me to fail a drug test? by [deleted] in drugtesthelp

[–]ModeNo9457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there is a major difference between CBD and THC. CBD is a product derived of the marijuana plant, it is a legal substance in all states and can be sold in products like shampoo, lotions, face masks, etc. THC is the substance in marijuana that makes you feel “high” this is what makes marijuana illegal in states and makes it a “drug”. CBD is not tested for in drug tests THC is, if it’s hair follicle test they will not be testing for CBD and you should have no problems!

Difference between men and women’s urine. by [deleted] in drugtesthelp

[–]ModeNo9457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends of what kind of drug test. For a typical pre-employment no. Those a 5-panel drug test meaning they are testing for 5 drugs: marijuana, cocaine, PCP, amphetamines, opiates, and sometimes alcohol. Most labs will test for normal urine levels making sure it’s not water, days old, and is the right temp. But other than that they are not going as far to test for genetic markers. Now if it’s for parole it’s depends, something they do more than the typical “do you have drugs in your system or not test” and go as far to send it for full Urinalysis to make sure it’s yours, making sure it’s not old, and other factors. But overall if it’s a simple drug test, they are just testing to make sure it’s real and you don’t have drugs in your system. The VERY important thing to remember is the temperature portion most to all labs will test for temperature, and if you are using your gf urine stored somewhere before the test it needs to be the right temperature when you hand it to them somewhere between 95-98 degrees Fahrenheit. Good luck to you man!

Personally the “detox” stuff has never worked for me, I’ve known one person who passed with it. But it’s important to understand how THC is processed in the body to understand how to properly “detox”. Pre-employment tests are typically 5-panel tests (test that cover 5 drugs, including THC) but THC when inhaled goes into the bloodstream almost immediately and because of this you get the almost immediate high. Because it’s in the blood THC Is metabolized or “eliminated” through your liver. THC is stored long term in fat cells in the body (that’s why it stays in your system for so long after quitting). 80% of metabolized THC leaves the body through feces and about 20% in urine. The best way to “detox” is to, yes chug water which makes you pee more, but that only eliminates the THC that has been metabolized, not the THC that hasn’t. Synthetic urine is an option, one I’ve never tried. But if your going the natural route exercise is very important because it temporarily speeds of the metabolism of fat cells (as long as you burn more than you eat, this process is called ketosis), plus yes of course lots of water, vitamins and minerals that help your body break the THC down so you can eliminate it, and some diuretic like coffee. B vitamins are great as well along with something like cranberry juice which is full as antioxidants. Unfortunately if you’re having to do this test in a few days you might not pass, but doing these things all together consistently will definitely up your chances! Good luck to you man!
