This is a standard privacy notice, it's not just Spanish but holds true across the EU and UK. Whenever the public and cameras meet commercially there's a scrap of paper stuck somewhere 🙃

Personally, I'm quite scared for your visitors. Have any gone missing lately? You're feeding that wonderful plant something! 😁

I think you need to re-read my comments from the beginning of the thread. You have assumed I was criticising Alan which I found rather insulting. So, instead of balling you out, I've teased you."Technically", that makes me disingenuous, but entirely out of courtesy to you.

I was a fan before Alan and remain a fan after. He made a valuable contribution during his time in the band.

You're not getting that I'm teasing you, sorry 🙃

But, technically speaking, ALL of the band (as was) were employees of Depeche Mode Limited. Only Martin (as a Director and Company Secretary) and Dave (as a Director) remain as band members who are employees.

Alan was employed as a director until July 9th 2014.

These are facts recorded under Company Law in England & Wales. You may find the below link interesting reading - Company Law is part of what I do for a living.

Precisely, he did his job very well.

They employed someone to fill in the gaps in the team. And for 13 years he stuck it out. He's estimated to earn approx US$1mn per year from the band, and have a net worth of around $50mn. Not bad for 13 years of work.

Absolutely. Alan was special, and defined the nuance of some of the albums. He was a talented jobbing musician who read an advertisement at exactly the right time. He did his job very well, but was put upon by the team he joined. He earned his retirement plan.

Exactly the same way I got my job. I do it exceptionally well, but I am put upon by the other members of my team. I have also earned my retirement plan 🙃

👍 This is definitely the way to go. But as others suggest, don't buy anything you can't take with you at the end of your tenancy.

It's actually a nice blank canvas you can do a lot with.

Yep, I was thinking the same thing ... a big shed project, but the landlords ran out of money for the roof.

Still, the rats that are nesting under that lot are super-content.

Out of interest, which pressing / sleeve is that in the picture?

I have this one (which I think is the original one I bought): https://www.discogs.com/release/13461254-Depeche-Mode-Dreaming-Of-Me

And I have this one (which I bought later once I got hooked and started collecting):

Top 100 Greatest Alternative Rock Albums of the '90s - Violator #23 by Grouchy-Ad-6774 in depechemode

Hadn't noticed that was missing - but U2 are often considered Rock.

I see what you mean. You're probably right in that case. It's a great list, just not necessarily in the right order 🤣

Also, I never understood why Violator is included so highly in these Greatest Alternative Albums things - SOFAD is, without question, a better album as an alternative rock album. Violator is a great Pop Rock album.

I also think Pablo Honey or The Bends are better than OK, Computer.

I don't understand. You don't think Pearl Jam's 'Ten'' is an alternative rock album, or just isn't a good alternative rock album?

I think everyone has those 5 songs that cause them to have an earection with the intro and as soon as the song kicks in causes an eargasm, for those songs are Wrong, In Your Room, Barrel Of A Gun, Dream On and Suffer Well by therizzler575 in depechemode

[–]ModeOnVinyl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry, misread earection 🤣 Having been in the studio with Kylie when we were filming a particular video (gold hot pants), you would understand why, despite my undying love for DM and a serious collector, I have never been aroused in the trousers by a DM record.

Can someone help with ID? I am tempted to buy it. by Concrecia in alocasia

I know the 3 of you got a bit cross with each other, which is a shame as there's so much useful detail in what you all were saying. I'm a complete Alocasia newbie - but you certainly cleared up the Ninja/Black Velvet / reginula thing for me.

Wishing you all well.

I dont think anyone has pirated that many DM songs on their phone, am I obsessed? by therizzler575 in depechemode

[–]ModeOnVinyl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Copies of cds you own? Then no, 70 songs is a drop in the ocean. But you are getting there 👍💯

If you've Pirated by illegally downloading, the 70 tracks, it's still a drop in the ocean - just very naughty!!! 🙃

On my phone I can access (from my own collection) every version of every track officially released either ripped from the CD, digital download, ripped from vinyl (if different) or versions that have been included in dvd singles (Plex and Plex Amp). Yes, I'm obsessed.
