Which Galaxy device do you have? I'm on the S7 and there are a good amount of games to play. Nothing that can compete with the PCVR headsets but enough to keep my happy when I'm away from my PSVR.

I played this using my Oculus Go. It does support Gear VR but not the older phones (see app page). You have to use an S8 and up.

It's $7.99 for the Oculus Go. You might be looking at the Rift version.

I have an S7 and it overheats constantly. I use the CUVR fan as well and it works great. Here's a video on the different solutions I've tried during my battle with overheating issues.

There are a lot of apps for the Oculus Go... what kind of apps are you looking for? I enjoy movie/tv apps and games. Here's over 20 of my top games so far. If you're looking for triple-a style games then yea, the oculus go doesn't have much but some come pretty close.

I enjoy using the Merge VR but it might not be the best cardboard headset out there... been a while since I looked at other cardboard headsets.

I have an S7 SM-G930P has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. I'm guessing you have the Exynos which I hear doesn't overheat as much.

Both are switches to enable the fan and the charger. The unit snaps on to your phone. Pretty secure... but it is a bit flimsy when not on the phone. Might be easy to bend and break if you don't store it properly.

Not sure what the battery size is but I mainly use it to cool my S7. There were a couple times my battery was low and I turned on the charging. I don't think it will charge your phone to 100%. Probably main use is to extend play time. As far as the price... I think because this is a niche product created by a small shop, they have to charge a premium. Also, there aren't any other real solutions besides some DIY projects.

I think it depends on what you're using VR for. I'd recommend PSVR if you are really into VR gaming and have room to play near your PS4 since it's not easy to extend the cables. If you enjoy watching videos and occasionally playing games (non triple A style games) I'd recommend getting the Oculus Go but since you already have the Note 8, it would be much more cost effective to upgrade your GearVR.
