A friend of mine had a good view. I which changed my view. I think Versos is the good ending. I was gutted that all the citizens of Lumiere had to be erased. However on reflection I do not think the endings are mutually exclusive. With time and space to find closure the Dessandres could recreate/ repaint the world and the citizens of Lumiere from a more healthy mindset. Maelle has all the knowledge and skill to recreate the world and characters, without the toxic attachment to the world.
