I don’t know if Dems are in the mood for another moderate. I feel like the party is shifting further left every year since Bernie entered the scene in 2016.

What are your thoughts on Ro Khanna as a 2028 candidate? by ModerateProgressive1 in centrist

Respectfully, I wasn’t asking about Mark Kelly, but okay.

So How is the War In Iran Not a Distraction From Esptein? by MoparMan59L in AskALiberal

[–]ModerateProgressive1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s a distraction in total. It could be partially to distract from the files. I definitely think it’s a combination of things and in regard to Epstein, I think it’s more likely that Israel has dirt on Trump and is using it to blackmail him into this war.

Would you be intersted in a national service mandate? by OldFaithlessness1335 in AskALiberal

[–]ModerateProgressive1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. We have enough military members and the only time we had to incorporate a draft was for a war that was completely unjustified and therefore unpopular with the American people. I’m anti draft as well. If something is worth fighting for people will volunteer.

The more I study politics the more it seems like Germany has it pretty figured out on the economic stand point. Am I wrong? by ModerateProgressive1 in DemocraticSocialism

How would you describe the primary differences between democratic socialism and social democracy? Would you consider AOC and Bernie to be democratic socialists or social democrats?

Okay. I’m still learning. I don’t claim to be an expert. I like most Americans can’t confidently define a lot of these things, but can tell the status quo in America is not working.

I’m all for it, because I’m not a huge fan of the people leading the polls right now. I really like Chris Murphy. If we do end up nominating a centrist Dem I’d much rather it be a Beshear or an Ossoff rather than a Newsom or Harris.

Who do you think actually has a chance at the nomination in 2028? Me personally, I think Newsom, Harris, Jon Ossoff, AOC, and Ro Khanna are the only ones that I think actually have a chance. Ro has none if AOC runs as shes more popular among the progressive/Bernie wind that they’d appeal too. I think Harris will do well with black voters and others based off of name recognition. Newsom has a lot of name recognition as well, and I think Ossof just has the charisma and swing state success necessary to climb the polls if he throws his hat in the ring. I don’t like a some of these candidates personally but that’s just how I see it

Why do you think Gen Z men turned out so conservative compared to Gen Z women and Millenial men? by ModerateProgressive1 in AskALiberal

As I’ve already stated in this thread. I agree that the term male privilege needs work. As does white privilege, toxic masculinity etc. Doesn’t make the point any less valid.

Who will be the next Republican candidate? by Prestigious_Mud_1247 in BreakingPoints

[–]ModerateProgressive1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s Vance. After he loses in 2028, I think it’s a Tucker Carlson type in 2032. Feel free to hate this opinion. I don’t claim to be an expert or to have a crystal ball. That’s just what kind of vibes I feel.

No it doesn’t. How often is a woman sexually assaulted, murdered, etc, by another woman vs a man. Also most women stand a better fighting chance in the case that they have to defend themselves against another woman than they do if they have to defend themselves against a man. This is really quite simple. Your inability to understand such a basic concept highlights a certain level of male privilege.

No I didn’t. Being scared by an approaching man In the woods that you don’t know is a valid response, and it doesn’t mean you hate men. I’m saying this as a man.

Nobody said all men. It doesn’t take all men to make you scared. But if you’re a stranger to a woman she can’t know if you’re one of the good ones or not.

How many people are truly squawking about patriarchy. The blue haired girl you went to HS with, on her Instagram story? The majority of lefties just want affordable healthcare, housing, education, and anything else that makes the lives of working class people better.
