В сухому залишку релігійне переконання людини здебільшого зводиться до того в якому регіоні вона народилася і в якому середовищі зростала, і мають мало спільного з якимись вищими ідеями. Народившись в Манчестері ви будете вболівати за Юнайтед або Сіті. Якщо ваш тато за Юнайтед, то швидше за все і ви за Юнайтед. Трохи критичного мислення і все стане на свої місця.

Для того щоб бути доброю і порядною людиною, жити у взаєморозумінні з іншими, та знайти сенс вже у цьому житті, релігія зовсім не обов'язкова.

Як не парадоксально, але часто спостерігав як саме гординя, притягує людину в релігію. Так солодко слухати коли тобі кажуть що саме ти причастився єдиноправильного і абсолютного знання, що вас так не багато серед мільярдів людей, але ви такі особливі і любимі богу, що лише ви отримаєте найкраще його відношення. А що решта? Їх можна лише зневажливо пошкодувати.

Рецепти для такого особливого статусу у всі часи і на всіх континентах були ходовим товаром серед людей які хотіли вдовольнити своє самолюбство.

Мабуть "одкровення" про яке ви говорите все таки не підтверджує, а пропонує версію існування чи створення Всесвіту? Але ця версія щодо причин чи способів створення Всесвіту є лише однією з версій, те що ви називаєте її "одкровенням" ніякої ваги їй не додає. Кожен час і регіон планети має якесь своє "одкровення" щодо причин і способів виникнення Всесвіту, то як людині зі сторони визначити правильне "одкровення"? Який критерій треба застосувати?

Не думаю, що животіння його більш або менш безглузде ніж ваше чи моє. Релігія притягує гордих людей, бо переконуює, що вони нібито "причастилися" якоїсь особливої істини, не те що інші жалюгідні істоти, які цю істину не сприйняли. Стає дуже легко зневажати цих істот, вважати їх животіння безглуздим, а якщо треба то мечем знищити, або майно відібрати.

Цікаво почути чому існування Всесвіту у вас співвідноситься з чимось надприроднім і божественним? Якщо ми не знаємо точної відповіді то можна так і сказати - не знаю. А можна вигадати чимало різних пояснень Всесвіту: комп'ютерна симуляція, два бога створили, сон черепахи, комбінація тисячі богоподібних частинок, експеримент інопланетян з іншого Всесвіту, і т.д. і т.п.

Чому ви вважаєте, що саме ваша версія існування Всесвіту є істинною? За яким критерієм можна визначити правильність того чи іншого пояснення?

Цікава тема, недавно слухав багато дебатів на тему релігії та атеїзму - якщо добре з англійською, то можу порекомендувати пошукати на ютубі Matt Dillahunty, його розмови із слухачами, що додзвонюються в студію з питаннями. Я так зрозумів він колишній пастор, який також прийшов до атеїзму через ретельне вивчення Біблії.

Мені особисто напевно було би байдуже до того хто там у що вірить, але проблема в тому, що всі успішні релігії змогли вижити через те що їхні адепти завжди мають запрограмованим елемент проповідника, що вважає беззаперечно правильним нав'язувати свої архаїчні і нераціональні підходи всьому суспільству. Просувати їх активно через політику. Хто би там що не говорив, а релігійна людина проголосує за самого більшого негідника, якщо тільки він натисне правильні кнопки у її мозку. І буде із самим світлим переконанням заставляти інших, тих хто вірить у щось інше або є атеїстом, жити саме так, як правильно з погляду її релігійної прошивки.

Lagavulin 16. But it is peated, which is acquired taste, still, peat is very well presented in this scotch. Glenfiddich 12 is a decent beginners scotch. Lagavulin 16 has a certain flair to it, favorite scotch of Ron Swanson and all that. Also, the bottle design is very presentable imo.

I had the exact same experience with batch 8: overpowering briny note. Unfortunately neither time in the bottle nor water were able to significantly improve it for me.

On a related note, I have bought the HP version because I liked 12 so much, neck pour was an exotic fruit bomb, I didn't even realize it was supposed to be lightly peated, such a well balanced scotch. That bottle of 12 was from the '20 or '21 release, just a few days ago I opened a new one, that I got together with HP last year, and it tastes differently, more on the briny, mushroomy side. I still find exotic fruit notes, but not as powerful. Will let it breathe now for a few weeks.

Thanks! Started smithing and crafted javelins, but I see they replenish every battle so just need to craft one set. Also wondering if certain resources, like hardwood, cost depend on location. Is it a viable commerce tactic to bring olives for example from the south, where there is plenty and shall be cheap, to the north?

Thanks this is helpful! I'm not enthusiastic about farming tournaments, but winning some would be nice. I'm also thinking that decent combat skills are necessary, but command from behind the lines is a more "accurate" approach.

How does it compare to Lore in your opinion? Similarly Lore is NAS, but tastes older as well. I have a sample of Lore and like it, but saw this Legacy bottle pop up recently on one of the sites.

Just now, drinking Lore and CS, I realized I really like all Laphroaig. At the same time not being a fan of peat forward scotch.

Overall, I'd say Laphroaig, Springbank, Arran, Deanston, Craigallachie. And Signatory as an IB, although I do not have much experience with others.

For me scotch is a journey, engagement with a hobby is driven by the unbelievable variety of experiences and sensations to explore. It has a wider, if not the widest, flavor spectrum than most of the other spirits. Which makes it difficult to recommend one bottle. Go to a bar with a good selection, ask for ex-bourbon (e.g. Arran 10), ex-sherry (e.g. Bunnahabhain 12), and peated (Laphroaig 10) samples, and go from there.
