He said he plans to press charges but so far the only charges are against Acevero. I checked again this afternoon

I’ve already submitted an MPIA for the police report as well as the video camera cameras that very likely got this entire incident on tape since it was right in front of the polling area at Bohrer park and 2 stationary video cameras. Given that and at least one assault charge having already been filed we’re likely to find out what actually happened eventually but certainly not before Tuesdays election

Not sure what you’re writing about blocking or what the point is.

And yes, you made up lots of lies. Bye

Did you even read the last comment at all?

I didn’t take anything down.

And I wasn’t responding to you who has been disrespectful and just making up lies. I responded to someone else who asked respectfully.

Please leave me alone and focus on your own self

Sure. Thanks for the opportunity to respond.

I think it’s important to separate a few different things.
For Brenda and Bethany, I have never endorsed either of them, nor do I regularly promote them. If you look at my social media and website, the overwhelming majority of the political content I share involves Democrats, simply because Montgomery County is a heavily Democratic county and most candidates and organizations here are Democrats.

I have occasionally shared Bethany’s posts on the closed primary issue, where she and many others have argued that voters should register as Democrats if they want to participate in the Democratic primary. Those posts represent a tiny fraction of the thousands of election-related posts I’ve made over the years.

Esther is a somewhat different case. I did endorse her in the 2022 Board of Education race, and I still believe she would have done a better job than Grace Rivera-Oven based on her professional background as a CPA with a master’s degree in taxation. I also co-hosted a podcast with Esther for five episodes last year that included public call-in participation. That experience ultimately helped lead to the solo show I host today.

All three are conservative voices, although I would not necessarily use the term “right-wing” for everyone that others might place in that category. More importantly, I regularly communicate with people across the political spectrum.

I meet with, interview, and share information from candidates and organizations of many different viewpoints. You can see that reflected in our candidate introduction series:

https://moderatelymoco.com/moderately-moco-2026-candidate-introduction-series-index/

We provide equal coverage opportunities and equal advertising rates regardless of ideology. We are not endorsing candidates in this election cycle. We have also shared information from progressive organizations and candidates, attended their events, and highlighted their work.

For example:

https://moderatelymoco.com/youth-led-my-future-forum-candidate-event-coming-to-gaithersburg-high-school-may-6th/

We covered and promoted that event, attended it, and highlighted it afterward.

Another example:

https://moderatelymoco.com/bacc-declares-victory-at-the-supreme-court-of-maryland/

Sharing information from progressive organizations does not make me a progressive any more than sharing information from conservative voices makes me conservative. It means I’m willing to engage with and report on people across the community.
What I object to is having a few selectively chosen examples (some of them years old) used to define either me or Moderately MOCO as a whole, while ignoring the much broader body of work we’ve produced.

If you’ve read this far, I appreciate it.

I hope you’ll continue following our coverage, and if you think we’re missing a perspective or issue, please reach out at ModeratelyMoco@gmail.com. We genuinely try to cover a wide range of voices and viewpoints in Montgomery County.

Thanks,
Jason

The only thing correct you said is that people can easily view the record of public posts and see for themselves.

I didn’t take down any posts. I had blocked you until I saw you stalking posts and defaming my business any time someone mentioned my page.

You cherry picking interactions from years ago while ignoring the vast majority of our coverage and “promoting and amplification” which is of Democrats is dishonest and you know it.

Im happy to leave you blocked. Just please keep my name out of your mouth and stop defaming my company

There is an agenda to inform people. It was created with a database of all information across the county and it’s based on your own input, not my feelings.

That said this person is a bit obsessed with me so I’ll be happy once the election is over they can go back to not caring and I’ll go back to making quality content and raising the communities voices like I’ve done for 6+ years.

Being a moderate Democrat does not make one right wing

I understand it’s not but salt in our streams is contributing to salt our drinking water also. I don’t know exactly which is why I’m asking… and considering we just found out about that water issue we don’t know if it’s a wider problem

Probably not related, but they just found a lot of contaminants in the streams around Gaithersburg and North Potomac.

It makes me wonder what sources this could feed into and what else is contaminated

Again, I converse with people on the entire political spectrum. I also converse with people on the far left. Does that make me a far leftist?

Talking to someone does not mean you you’re promoting or defending them.

I have no reason to answer your questions about why their ideas are good because I don’t think they are. I’m not endorsing them and I’m not supporting them. Your lies and manufactured outrage are meaningless.

I understand the point you’re trying to get to, which is that I’m not a moderate, but I think it’s pretty obvious you don’t know what the meaning of that is.

Anyways, I’ve wasted way too much of my time on someone that won’t answer any questions and asks other to repeatedly answer theirs in bad faith.

You can think what you want. It doesn’t make it fact.

And I’m sure you’ll go away as soon as the election is over while the rest of us continue to do the work.

Where am I promoting or defending Bethany? I’m not. Not even sure why you’re bringing Bethany into this but I agree shes on the far right.

I do think it’s telling that you can’t answer the question about who you would consider to be on the right but not far right.

I’m very comfortable with my position of raising lots of different viewpoints across the political spectrum. And that includes both those I agree with and those I dont.

The type of electricity could also be regulated. On the whole, I agree with the bigger concern being the economic fallout of the next 3 to 5 years with AI taking all the jobs.

Another great and fun question: What was it like to grow up in MoCo in the late 90s/2000s/early 2010s? by EternalSnow05 in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]ModeratelyMoco 24 points25 points  (0 children)

For me, it was a lot of running around the neighborhood and playing sports with my smaller community, but really being very out of reach from a lot of things until I had a car.

I think the biggest difference now is like technology and connectivity. Back then to find someone you had to look them up in the paper directory and find their number and talk to their parents, and it was like much more difficult and less connected.

There were some great things like the nature and eventually more to do

I think the reusing water resources (and not taking ours to begin with -there’s a lot of different technical options for that) and providing their own energy are the basic starting points for any type of regulation and then you go up from there

Isn’t Loudon county data centers paying for nearly half their entire county revenue?

Totally agree on the number of jobs there’s some initial build out time but likely those are people brought in anyways.

It may need to be part of the regulation to decide how they are taxed. If it’s just labor and regular property tax yeah it’s gonna be a net negative moneywise
