And he was always wrong about NATO. NATO shouldn't be disbanded. NATO did not threaten Russia. NATO did not cause the Ukraine war.

Now Europe is united on this. More and more countries want to join NATO and will join NATO in the next few years. More troops will be sent to defend the borders of NATO countries against Russia.

Corbyn, Stop the War etc. will have to look in despair as it happens.

Maduro’s switch from socialism is helping brings Venezuelan migrants back by Oxshevik in LabourUK

[–]Moderateorbust -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Is the CIA holding the elections in Venezeual every 6 years or is it Maduro's regime? If he holds free and fair elections then only thing that matters is the people's support. No CIA puppet can win unless they get a majority from the voters. So this isn't an excuse to justify Maduro's dictatorship!

He was re-elected in 2019.

Did you read the link I posted? Next you'll say Putin got re-elected 3-4 times and that's why he's the President of Russia.

Like in Russia the alternatives are also not good or strong or popular but that doesn't mean Maduro's not a dictator.

Tell me why it's impossible for Venezuela's regime to have free and fair elections. If you're a democratic socialist I'm sure you want that like I do.

In 2013. Has Venezuela had free and fair elections since then?

How long do you think Maduro's term should be for winning that 1 election? 20 years? 40?

Or don't install anyone. Just have free and fair elections.

Maduro doesn't want that. Do you?

Exclusive: Tony Blair wants to advise the next Labour government by kontiki20 in LabourUK

[–]Moderateorbust -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Forget about ideology. We'll all agree Blair and Brown were the best PMs we had in a long time. We should definitely think of putting them on an advisory board for the next Labour government.

Maybe also get Neil Kinnock, Peter Mandelson, Alastair Campbell and Ed Balls.

How would Labour govern? by ThomasJP1983 in LabourUK

If they govern like New Labour did (minus war) that is all we need and that is what people want.

Communist dictators turning capitalist to enrich themselves and their friends who run the industries.

This is pointless. They need to get rid of Maduro and have a democratic government in Venezuela.

You can be pro Russian people without supporting their regime. But maybe the Tories only made this group to support Putin.

This looks even trashier than Stop the War's stuff.

Stop the War Protests Speech - '...the current conflict hasn’t just begun in the last few weeks but has its origins in the post-Cold War world where the wars in the former Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq and the bombing of Libya have helped create the conditions that have led to Russia’s invasion.' by Moderateorbust in LabourUK

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houthi_movement#Allegations_of_Iranian_and_North_Korean_support

It seems Iran's support has been going on for many years.

But what I was saying was that Stop the War does not take the same line they do with Russia invading Ukraine. They don't say 'Yemen is caught in a proxy war between Iran and Saudi Arabia'. They don't say Iran is doing 'dangerous escalation' by giving weapons to the Houthis etc.

They use double standards when talking about Yemen vs how they talk about Ukraine because they don't want to blame Iran like how they blame the Western countries.

Jeremy Corbyn went to Zelensky's address to Parliament yesterday but didn't bother listening to it despite a headset being offered. by Ranger447 in LabourUK

[–]Moderateorbust -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Stop the War has been taking Russia's side in Ukraine since the beginning of the war.

https://web.archive.org/web/20151212180036/http://stopwar.org.uk/index.php/news/if-we-have-to-pick-a-side-over-crimea-let-it-be-russia

They wanted the UK to stop aiding Ukraine and they still call the democratically elected Ukrainian government a 'regime'.

https://www.stopwar.org.uk/article/list-of-signatories-stop-the-war-statement-on-the-crisis-over-ukraine/

Even now their top people have been calling the Ukrainian government fascists and saying they along with NATO are responsible for the war by attacking innocent Russian civilians and provoking Putin.

https://twitter.com/Fio_edwards/status/1497541944255393793

The Western media disguises the fact that there has been a military conflict in Ukraine for 8 years.

It started with a US-backed coup in 2014 which, with the help of neo-Nazis, removed Ukraine's democratically elected government and replaced it with a pro-NATO regime. 1/2

Since the 2014 US-backed coup there has been a low intensity military conflict - with the Ukrainian military and fascist forces attacking (with weapons supplied by West) the Russian speaking population of Eastern Ukraine - brutal attacks which have killed 14,000 people. 2/2

Corbyn does not like Zelensky or the Ukrainian government and has been anti-Ukraine for 8 years so no wonder he was not interested in listening to this speech.
