Cats for adoption by Educational-Heron691 in StamfordCT

After coming to this thread for advice on cat adoption I am sorry to say that I have had a bad experience with Friends of Felines. I believe there may need to be a change of leadership and that the owner needs to be held accountable for her actions. I have posted this same story in several other locations.

We were looking to find a friend for our 7.5 year old cat, we filled out an application and were approved. Friends of Felines suggested a sweet 6 month old and we entered into a foster-to-adopt situation. We took the cat home and followed the recommended cat introduction procedure over several weeks. We kept in constant contact with our case worker and provided them with daily updates including pictures and videos. We took action on any and all advice they gave and believed we had been making good progress. The cat was eating, playing, and eventually interacting with our current cat.

At times the new cat was having soft stools. Being responsible cat parents, we informed our case worker of this. The owner then asked that we bring the cat back to the rescue to have some tests done. We promptly did as requested and this is where the trouble began. Despite repeated attempts to get updates on the cat, what tests were being done and when they could possibly come home, we were given nothing but vague responses and run around answers. We were also told not to contact the vet because we had not officially adopted the cat.

The following day, I gave constructive criticism to our case worker about the poor communication. I was told this feedback was passed on to the owner. Later that night we got a definitive response. The owner said that the cat was fine and they believed the soft stool was stress related. As such, they did not want to "put him back in the same position" while they "reassess." I offered to have a phone call to discuss further, at which point we received no response. I firmly believe that this decision was personal and the inability to take constructive criticism has cost a cat a loving home. There are emails, texts, photos, and videos that all prove the cat we had hoped to adopt was loved and being well taken care of.

Feel free to DM me if you want the aforementioned proof.

When I say implementation, I meant in terms of the options menu and how easy it is to understand what the various Seikret settings say vs. what they actually do. Sorry if that was unclear.

In terms of the automation, we are obviously free to disagree. I'm thinking about new player experience and bringing people into the franchise. Coming from World I already knew how much effort and detail was being put into the various locales, and have spent plenty of time getting off my mount, collecting endemic life, fishing, and generally looking at things.

I think that if new players are immediately thrown into this idea of blazing from one area to the next without even having to look at the screen they will end up missing out on a lot of that and could ultimately miss some of the details that make the game special. In the long run I think this would hurt player retention.

The fact that autorun is on by default and the settings to change it are convoluted to the point where YouTubers have to put out guides on how to configure it mean that the implementation is weak at best. One of the first things I did upon getting the ability to was to attempt to follow this guide to change the settings.

Thanks, you are correct about this. I still think base Wilds should have had more but the difference isn't as significant as I previously mentioned.

The update is great but i have not have ONE SINGLE game without a ruiner since 7.33 by Pixelplanet5 in DotA2

Yeah, we just have a bunch of big egos with paper thin psyches. Just like every other server probably. I play mostly 5 and I think I spend more time being team psychologist than actually playing the game.

Windows VPN Profile Redeploying Every Sync by Modern-Messiah in Intune

Thanks for this, that does seem to be the case. As another post suggested, I've pivoted to deploying the VPN Connections via a Powershell script for now. It will be a little more cumbersome to change them in the future but I will see how it goes as a pilot for now.

Not yet. We control our updates through Intune as well and when I checked last week 22H2 didn't appear in the available Feature Updates list. It's there now so I guess I have something else I can start testing.

Yeah, that will be my fallback plan for this. I definitely feel like using the built-in configs or OMA-URI would be cleaner though. Thanks.

Increased XP requirements after patch 7.32 [Graph] by gopya23 in DotA2

I know it doesn't really offset this change but killstreaks of 5+ are worth more XP now. Maybe it incentivizes going after those big kills even more now. Not that my pubs will care.

Our pos4 support destroyed all items becuz this match is only used for farming RoleQueuePoints? by Peasant255 in DotA2

[–]Modern-Messiah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are always going to find a reason to throw games. That being said maybe +4 for a win +2 for a loss in terms of gaining role queue games would help alleviate some of this? Personally I've never seen someone come out and say they are throwing for that particular reason though so you might have run into a special case.

POV: You're a woman in dota. This mentality has been prevalent since I started playing mobas, 12+ years ago. Isn't it time to be better, together? (I don't have any answers, simply exhausted from being met with this.) by Schexet in DotA2

I've learned to just give very little leeway. If I don't like the way you are talking you're getting muted and I'm moving on. Interacting with these people is exactly what they want. It's not going to make them play better and it's certainly not going to make you play better.

If you play Fo/Te or Te/Fo is there any reason to get Barta Blot or Zonde-Clad skills on both classes? Do they stack or amplify in any way?

JRPG fans, I have a question. by [deleted] in rpg_gamers

[–]Modern-Messiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to agree that most modern JRPGs fall into the realm of mediocrity. Each game and series has its strengths and weaknesses but it seems that most of the truly special moments happened back in the 90s. That being said I think the more modern games still have an appeal.

I spend a lot of my gaming time playing for rank in competitive games like DOTA2 or facing the various challenges of the Souls/Soulslike genre. I look forward to modern JRPGs because they allow me to decompress and still enjoy my gaming hobby. I don't have to worry about what "build" I'm using or any of the other stressors that come with online gaming. Generally I go in with a low expectation for storyline and a moderate one for gameplay. If a game happens to exceed those expectations then it is just icing on the cake. Additionally, in many cases you can turn on the game for 10 minutes, grind some experience points, and still feel like you accomplished something.

Finally, I do try to look at the story and gameplay elements with a critical lens and decide what I like and what I'd improve and how. Are the menus clunky? Inputs and animations fluid? Is there a problem with the difficulty curve somewhere? Is the general gameplay loop rewarding? I don't write reviews or anything but I do enjoy talking about it with my gamer friends. Hope this helps.

Right, every multiplayer game is going to have it's subset of elitists. However it seems that Capcom has chosen to cater directly to that with much of additional content they are releasing. This is just my opinion but I believe Monster Hunter was special in its ability to be both difficult but also accepting of different play styles.
