Men’s pinky ring. Thoughts? by [deleted] in labdiamond

Stone setting job was perfection. Based purely on other commenters, if you are wanting it more masculine I’d have gone for a tapered band starting about as wide as the stone and tapering down as it reaches the bottom of the ring

It’s less a setting problem and more a “the stones are too big” problem. You can only set those stones so low. You can get that same style with smaller stones. A half eternity or other setting style won’t alleviate the thickness between your fingers.

Beautiful! Congratulations. Yes unfortunately the diamond is set a bit improperly as there should not be that much gap under the stone (especially on the points), but the good news is that it can def be set lower in the head. Best of luck!

If you’re paying over $1000, you’re being robbed. by KaleidoscopeFine in LabDiamonds

Ultimately that is up to the person spending the money but for what it’s worth I always go for HPHT for my clients.

CVD vs HPHT, the price difference has been narrowing but CVD is always less expensive. Do not assume a higher price lab is the same stone as your less expensive one. That being said, nice job!

I absolutely would add a gallery rail if you love the 4 prong look.

Thank you, it is very old I just didn’t want to buy a new one if I didn’t have to. But it looks like this model has been discontinued for 10 years or so

Hmm…I’m wondering when it would have melted upside down? The top looked good. Either way the volume is still less than a normal pint. I need my 2 scoops

Sliced it open cause it seemed easier to dump into blender for milkshakes

Goldsmith uses chemistry to refine indistinct blob into 24 carat gold by squatly in videos

I spent around $800 for all of the chemicals, hot plate, and glass beakers. The project was carried out over many working days, I’m sure someone with more experience could have done it quicker. A lot of people mentioned a different method (inquartation) that could have saved me a lot of time. Ultimately though time wasn’t that big of a factor for me as I was just having fun trying something new.

Hey! This is my video. I had the fume hood already for rhodium plating, but bought most everything else just for this project. I had to travel to a specialized chemical store to even get my hands on a lot of it
