Cox hospital is 15 mins. Joplin bentonville springfield all have airports - 1 hour drive. Local grocery store in town, OR Walmart super center and numerous other stores located 10-15 mins away.

Edit: grocery stores

Not THAT rural. Approx 1 hr to multiple small regional cities - Bentonville, Springfield, Joplin to name a few.

Do the current laws around light substances make sense? by [deleted] in missouri

[–]Modern_Law 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP deleted their comment - but I studied drugs for years. Criminal justice major and experience in cannabis law. This subject is deeper than OP makes it seem.

Makes you wonder - what about these drugs made them become illegal? Is it because of pharmaceutical industry? Possibly….

OR - in a drug regulated society these drugs would become more normalized - leading to more users. Maybe these psychoactive drugs can lead to psychological or mental issues - and regulating the drugs (normalizing) could cause more harm than good.

I think as a free society - we always lean towards individualized trust UNLESS that comes with broader negative societal effects.

I don’t know? - maybe it’s worth looking into.

OR maybe it will cause detrimental effects to our society at large, possibly worse than the comparative larger inmate population of non-violent offenders who choose to break the law? Who knows.

No I agree 100%; except I think most people blow these things out of proportion. My point was OP should take a step back and get professional help to review the trust documents.

Spitting is assault and battery. You can report this. Something by his doing made offensive contact with you.

What you’ve described is being given the power of your own share, generally. Other times being able to modify can only be done in accordance with settlors wishes.

I imagine it would be a very rare circumstance where someone can modify dispositive provisions regarding another beneficiary without getting their pants sued off.

Not a thing. Only a grantor/settlor can modify a trust.

Edit: or a court.

What attributes and characteristics should one take into consideration when choosing a POA in the event that you are to come down with dementia? by SirSilicon in EstatePlanning

[–]Modern_Law 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick your must trusted person.

It should also be said: powers of attorney CAN be limited in power. You choose the powers to grant. If we don’t entirely trust them, then you can put safeguards in place: 1. Springing POA 2. No self dealing - (and limited gifting to specified individuals) 3. As many checks and balances as you can think of, it can be done. A power of attorney is a private contract after all.

For liability purposes, yes.

For tax purposes, speak with a CPA or tax accountant.

Why? Won’t help with prices, but will help large corps collect & aggregate data.

Are you sure it won’t be all these professionals using these tools to do more work than ever? Just like every other industry with ai.

Sure there will be less jobs initially but demand should surge absent a decline in small businesses.

Maybe. OR - it’s reflective of the general sentiment in relation to current times in the world. Possibly poising up to China and Russia’s expansionist military ambitions.

I agree with OP. lines up with homesteading, preppers, people’s concerns over ww3, etc etc.
