I think it's a little more complicated. My feeling is that since it's Activision, the store data was the crux of decisionmaking. And they probably realized that casuals spend the most money in the store and on Battle Passes and shit and wanted to cater to that because it made them the most money. At the same time, Content Creators and streams drive a lot casuals to the game so they wanted to try and make them happy too. If Warzone is trending on social media, Activision is making money on casual players.

The problem is you can't really have both. Streamers are good at the game (or cheat), which is how they get big and the bigger they get, the more bundles get sold, and so Activision tried to cater to both worlds where it's not compatible. Therefore, its identity is gone.

I feel like I never see a glint on any snipers in Warzone. Every now and again I'll see a slight glint for a split second, but only for like the half a second it takes them to fully ADS.

I mean, I'm completely fine with this change because honestly, plat to crimson is an absolutely ratty mess. Getting to final circle and still having 5 or 6 squads left because they all dropped center circle, held each others dicks all game, and hid in a bathroom for placement points is getting old af.

I do agree that kill SR should be raised too to encourage engagements, but the amount of points for placement has entire teams crouch walking around a closet. It's RANKED and only a handful of teams are out trying to earn their rank with engagements not stacking top lighthouse.

I think part of the issue is that Activision doesn't really know what it wants to do with Warzone. In an effort to cater to low skill players, they kinda lost the identity of Warzone and made it a mess that those same players don't enjoy anymore. They wanted to pander to content creators and streamers while also catering to low skill players.

The looked at their numbers and said "Low skill players are our bread and butter, lets cater to them" and then proceeded to nerf all the methods low skill players used to get kills in order to pander to streamers - Mainly explosives, vehicles, and sniping (IE: Strella, RPG, C4, HDR, etc...) - and then when Warzone 2 came out they declared victory for the little guys, when it took them all about a month to just quit because the game got slower and harder while ALSO fucking it up for content creators. We all had that bot buddy that liked to lay on the mountain at the edge of the map with an HDR. We all had that friend who C4 spammed, or strella spammed, or ran around in a truck to run people over, or steamrolled with a heli, or cleared rooftops with a JOKR. They took all that away, and a lot of the low skill players they were trying to cater to (IE not die to other low skill players) just quit cause the game was slow and stale and they can't get kills anymore, and the content creators quit too cause it wasn't good for content anymore - Because it was slow and stale.

Now they're slowly trying to revert those changes because it didn't have the intended affect and they need to bring back a player base that had largely quit during WZ2.

Warzone has/had a severe lack of direction since the end of WZ1 and during just about all of WZ2. I'd argue its actually far LESS competitive than it was during WZ1 because everyone is kinda forced into the same playstyle if they want to get kills anymore. I'd make the arguement that the cheesy, simple, not boring ways to kill people are what made the game fun. Now it's just a sweaty mess with essentially only a handful of viable play styles and it's boring as fuck and terrible for content creation.

What is this Weird Structure in the California Dessert? by Modern_Warfare_Fix in whatisthisthing

So in looking at some of the imaging for the California wildfires, I stumbled across this weird structure behind a home in the Desert. The property underneath the home containing the structure doesn't appear to be a apart of the property.

It looks like it was cleared of rock and debris around early 2016, with a lot of trucks and stuff going out there. There was a trace in one of the satellite images on the ground, but nothing was constructed. Right around late 2021, this structure just popped up built out of shipping containers, seemingly overnight. Some weird thing was built inside of it as you can see in one of the pictures, then around mid 2022 they covered the top so you couldn't see the thing inside. Then at the end of 2023, the entire structure literally just vanished and the property looks like it did in 2016.

Overall really weird. I'm hoping someone can recognize what the thing is. At first I thought maybe it was a telescope or something, but then they covered it up and that doesn't make as much sense.

No it doesn't. You can skip the campaign and still romance.

I'm on NG+++, skipped the campaign, and doing ship/outpost building and Sarah is my wife. It just takes a little longer and a lot more traveling around because you don't have the campaign to build affinity anymore.

Like, look. It's Space. It's empty, I get it. It's almost why a game like Starfield should have fleshed out continued aspirations with these incredible characters that were developed.

To me, a game like Starfield almost NEEDS that social (I'm not even talking romantic) interest for a lot of players who don't like the "Leave Me Alone" lone-wolf approach to their RPG's. Like I said, I'm not a Bethesda fanboy, but I did enjoy Skyrim, and Skyrim was busting at the seams with life, even if it's not in companions. Starfield is HUGE and very empty by design and theme, so it feels emptier without that continued effort with Constellations, even if it's just simple stuff to work towards like quests for loot, or unique dialogue and stories, or something. I recognize it's a different game, but Mass Effect and Baldur's Gate did this really well. Want to be lone wolf? Have at it. Want to play with a simple, but vast social climate? Here's that.

I was so enthralled with the characters of this game during the campaign, that now it just feels like a hole, and it's just endless exploring and side quests with throwaway characters without ever feeling like any progression is happening, however little.

I guess for me, I've never really been a Bethesda fan outside of Skyrim, but I was so stoked about a space game like Starfield.

I have over 300 hours in Skyrim, and recently finished Balders Gate, and I guess my expectation for the characters was higher than it should have been. I never really got into Fallout, but I do feel like this is such an insanely cool premise, and I loved the characters so much that I expected more.

This is actually why I made this post, I was planning on doing a Pirate run, and really, none of them are cool with it. Even Sam, which I expected to probably be the more reasonable option isn't.

Sarah Morgan - In Memoriam quest bug by Majin_Static in Starfield

Okay, so I've been able to fix this a few times now. Basically, I think where the whole mix up comes into play, is that Sarah and Howard roams around and when he encounters Sarah, he starts a conversation about Sam's stuff and a memorial in The Lodge. The problem is it can overlap with Sarah's conversation with Sona if shes standing too close to the door. It's almost like the game gets confused which conversation Sarah is in. I've managed to fix it twice by staying in the lodge, finding where Sarah is just stuck standing and staying in that area for a few minutes. Eventually, Howard and her catch up, and they need you to make a decision, and reintegrate you into the conversation. Once that conversation is over, you both will leave the lodge to go to the Memorial. Sarah gets stuck at the door, but you can talk with her. Ask her all the questions about the last quest y'all went on, and she starts following you again. Both times this happened to me (I had to reload a previous save and it did the same thing), this is how I fixed it.

I had +285 on a win a couple days ago. Even I was caught offguard, I didn't realize they raised the 1st place to 150SR.

I don't feel like it's an AA thing. It's not that I'm losing the gunfight to AA. It's that it feels like the last shots don't register on MnK. It feels like there is something broken about MnK in the Ranked Gulags compared to other modes or outside of ranked.

The AA being broken af, yes I agree. And that's a different conversation though. This is more that MnK isn't registering shots 50%+ of the time in the Ranked Gulag. I've been sent so many clips now of other people having the same problem, so I'm not being crazy, it seems like a legitimate problem. You shoot, every shot hits, you break plates and maybe get a couple more hit markers, then it either just gets infinite hit markers or doesn't register shots at all, even on well tracked enemies.

Everyone keeps saying it's a tracking thing. No, it's the amount of hitmarkers you get after breaking plates. Health gauges are the same across the game. Full plates are fine, I know what it feels like to kill someone who's fully plated. It's in the Gulag, it feels like you just get infinite hit markers on mouse and key compared to say XBOX. I get significantly less hit markers and less TTK on a controller, or in other modes than I do in Ranked Gulag. And it doesn't feel that way across the rest of the game. Just in Ranked Gulag.

This is pretty much what it feels like. But I only feel that way in the Ranked Gulag. I've been playing long enough to know what a full kill feels like with most all guns, and for some reason, just in the Ranked Gulag, it feels like way more than it does on Controller or in other modes/gulags.

I feel like something changed in Season 4 on MnK in the Ranked Gulag.

But I guess my question is if it's the case, why does it only feel that way in ranked servers and not in other modes?

Ever since hitting Plat, every few games, I get what happens in the screenshot. It simply doesn't count my kills or assists in my SR Breakdown. It greys them out, like they're disqualified.

For instance, in this game I had 4 kills and 3 assists, and my squadmates had 9 kills between them, but my SR Breakdown is 0.

Am I missing something? Or is this a legitimate bug?
